I don't know if certain colors are more desirable or anything, but looking to possibly trade my complete set of yellow plastics with another color. I'm thinking white. I have a 2005 xb9r. I think the white with silver frame would look good. Mine are in pretty good shape, not perfect but nothing cracked or anything like that, just minor scratches from the previous owner that you can't see from 10 or even 5 feet away. They actually even have the original stickers still, some are peeling though, and the "Buell" letters are white.

Let me know if any interest. Also open to suggestions for colors from others :) I plan to keep the wheels white/silver, and leave all the frame parts silver.

I like the yellow but when I bought my bike in 03 I think they only had the white and or blue in stock. I thought that come resale time white would be better. I was right.

Exactly what I did! Haha just didn't like the yellow!

lol I actually don't really mind the yellow, it looks ok, but I don't like it with the silver frame is all. I think white/silve will look very clean. Where did you get your new plastics?

I'm not really sure what you're getting at?

I've seen that mint looking blue 03 in P.A. still sitting for sale at $3000. Here in Southern Cal there was an 03 in yellow that sat for over a year before the owner traded it in because he couldn't sell it. My white 03 sold in less than a month for $4K in September.

He actually just posted today or late yesterday and finally sold it. I know he dropped his price to 2800. Crazy how much selling changes based on location.

So I guess white is "better", or more desirable. Not sure I'd want any other color, although some of those translucent ones interest me...

If anybody sees a set for sell or something and you think of it it'd be appreciated if you'd post it here :)

I like yellow....:D

^yep if I had a 12 with the black frame I'd be happy, but it just doesn't stand out to me with the silver frame. I want to make my bike look REALLY clean, and unfortunately I don't like the silver frame. The only thing I can come up with is to go to white...

Or paint your frame....... You can get carbon fiber frame covers also.

I don't like the covers. If I was going to go through the trouble/time/expense of ripping the whole bike apart to paint the frame, swingarm, forks, etc... black I'd just sell it and get one that was already black. Probably be cheaper and definitely easier. I'd be happy with the silver if I can get white plastics.

this is something i've been thinking about doing this winter. has anybody done this? or have a DIY thread on it? i have blue and yellow plastics, and think both would look better with a black frame and swimg arm.

White is just less polarizing I guess, neutral is good for sales. The trans stuff is bad ass :D but I guess subjective too.

If your going to paint it yourself and don't really care about the inside area around the motor you could just mask off everything and paint it however you see fit. I do agree that yellow does not look as good on a silver frame. But I also don't like the silver frame.... So I would prob paint it if it was me.

yea my bikes my bike, and as far as myself or anybody else could tell if the inside part of the frame (near the engine) wasn't painted you would never know....

^ to me that's very half assed but it's up to you. I'd never paint anything without painting it all. I've done a few paint jobs and the first one I did was somewhat like that, half assed, I didn't take apart the bike, and it turned out OK at best.

I know I said "to me" and "but it's up to you". Just expressing my opinion...wasn't trying to be a jerk if it came off that way...
