Just looking to gauge interest. I posted this on craigslist because it'd be nice to make the trade without having to ship it, but I don't expect much to turn up local unless I get really lucky.
I have a seat from an 05-06 9SX that I'd like to trade for one of the normal height 03-04 xb9s(normal xb12s also) or one of the newer 9SXs that has the 'skyline' seat.
I have the low/scg seat, so I'm only looking for the medium seat. The one I want to trade is in good shape. It doesn't have the strap, but I filled in the old dip with some foam, and even though you can still tell there was a strap there, it's not bad. The vinyl has also worn through a little where the seat must've been set on the ground by the previous owner. It's right where the bottom edge of the seat bends away from the frame at a 45 degree angle. I don't set the seat on the ground, and it hasn't spread any since I got it.
The seat is very comfy, way softer than my low seat. I feel like I'm on a dirtbike when I ride it because it's so tall, but I'm only 5'8 so I think I'd get more use out of the normal seat. The front wheel comes off the ground way easier with my weight up so high, and it's fun on back roads because of how fast the bike will drop into turns.
I found a box the seat will fit in and weighed it. From Pittsburgh PA to Buffalo NY I was getting quotes of $13 for the post office and $16 for fedex, so shipping wouldn't be too bad if we both just paid our own shipping. Anyway, let me know if you'd potentially be interested. Like I said I want to give the craigslist ad a chance first to avoid shipping, but if that doesn't work out I don't mind boxing it up.
Considering it doesn't have the strap and it's got the messed up vinyl on the bottom edges I wouldn't expect your seat to be perfect. As long as it hasn't been crashed and all ripped up I'm not gonna be too picky.
