Whelp, as the title says, I've got a wife who's 8 months pregnant and up until a few hours ago, 4 bikes out in the garage. With the Buell now gone I'm down to 3 and pondering which'll be the next to go.

For those curious about how well XBs hold their value, I rode her for over 2 years, doubled the mileage, & sold her, no problem, for exactly what I paid for her. It truly was one of the most fun & easy bikes I've ever owned.

There's many things about the XB to love: the torque, the handling, the simplicity, the innovation & the sound. But another great thing is the community & this forum. I've truly enjoyed the friends, & foes, I've met on here; thanks!

Congrats on the baby! Sad to see the buell go but I'm sure you'll make your way back to one again in the future. Stop in and say hi to us here and keep us updated when you have the baby!

Thanks guys. I hope this kid's a rider! I plan to get him/her on a dirt bike as quickly a possible after some solid bicycle skills have been developed.

Congratulations!

Kinda like purpony, once my baby girl was born (Dec '13), I bought two more bikes.

I gave some serious consideration to keeping the XB, but it just wouldn't get ridden enough to justify it. The new owner discussed his plans to do the 101 Pacific Coast Highway down to Cali on it, so I'm confident it's gone to a good home.

My G650x-moto is just such a great all-rounder that I'm quite sure I'll be very happy with it as my "only bike" (it feels weird typing that!).

My wife has also committed to keeping her ZX6r so when I feel the need for speed (or if we ever get a new road-track built here!) I'll be able to jump on that.:D

When my girl was born, I decided that I didn't feel safe in my RX7 anymore since after an accident on the freeway (wet road, curve, wall, 80mph) it just never felt right, so I sold it. Then it was my wife's idea for me to buy the Firebolt and it was my impulsiveness to buy the old Suzuki. Wife claimed one of the Blasts for herself now and I'm flipping the Suzuki while my original XBlast goes under the knife again all the while riding the Firebolt and saving money on gas.

Haha. Similar story to my buddy who got a 911 turbo when his first kid was recently born. He initially approached her with a stink bid to get a motorcycle and when she predictably said "no", she suggested that a Porsche was a much more sensible & practical choice!

[up], so you gonna start her/him on the Buell and eventually EBR, the book of Buell is great bedtime reading for the kids:D

Haha, more likely a PW50!

Given the price of that book, I can't afford to risk getting spit-up or baby **** on it!
The buell was the first bike to go? WTF
Yeah, I know...As awesome as the XB is, the Beemer is just more versatile. It'll carve faster, brake harder, lane-split easier, go off-road, & still top out at 185 km/h (~115 mph).

Something got lost in the translation. Most people want to give their first born for a Buell. Not the other way around.

Just kidding. Congrats on the coming addition to the family!

Don't worry, the baby stuff and being a good dad will come. When my wife got pregnant and we found out it was twins, we (she) decided it was time for the toys to go (mine). The Porsche was first, then the bike, and soon the guns. That was twenty years ago. The guns are back, the bike comes back Sunday and I really don't need a Porsche anymore (did I really just say that?). It turned out to be the right decision at the time. It let me focus on being the best dad I could become. The passion has never died though. Never forget. Congratulations. Until later.
