so two weeks ago i traded in my buell. after it shat a sparkplug out on the side of the hwy i havent felt as comfy on it. to me it almost seemed like a ticking time bomb even though im sure it wasnt. that and my hands couldnt take the vibration anymore as im starting to get carpal tunnel syndrome (whaaaaa). so i thought i'd see what i could get for it at the local stealership. it was an 09' with 16,842 miles on it and they gave me 4900.00 for it. good enough for me. i then bought a 2011 kawasaki z1000 with a 5 year full warranty. something new to mod to piss and its super smooth. i'll miss my buell for sure as it was my first REAL bike. that being said, i'll have numerous parts for sale in the future from a tail bag to a couple transparent blue airboxes that im "customizing". so keep an eye out.

i think im going to miss the attention that it got more than anything. from its roar to its clear plastics and lots of leds, it turned more than a few heads im sure.

I really like the looks of those z1000's though. They seem like really awesome bikes for not being made by Buell :D

sorry to hear that but congrats on the new bike.i know what you mean about the ticking bomb.i have felt that way with my buell too.

p.  it was an 09' with 16,842 miles on it and they gave me 4900.00 for it. good enough
Crap man, you made out pretty good ! My 09 SS WITH 10,200 miles got an offer of $3500 from the BMW dealer so i passed on trading it in 2 months ago. [down]

The new Z's are nice. I considered buying one myself. But in the end I'll only ride a pushrod V-twin.[up]

yeah they originally offered me 4400 but i denied. i owed 5400 :/ so the 4900 hurt less and i took it. and i've been looking at the z1000s for about a year now. love the way naked street bikes look.

already got some v&h urban brawlers on it, removed the tail, and i now have a rear seat cowl on it too but gotta paint it to match. lots of mods to come (just like the buell).

very nice [up]
almost bought an '06 a few years back...

personally do not like the new fugly exhaust they came out with but luckily you've already rectified the situation, enjoy and ride it like you stole it!
:D

Is it just me, or does it look a LOT like a 1125CR?

It's very buellesque. It's a lot more aggressive looking but I was thinking it does have similiar Buell lines and characteristics aside from all the points and jagged edges! Lol and price is almost double :D

i got it at big st.charles motorsports and picked it up for 8700 or so. i think it looks like a transformers nutsack lol. which is pretty bad ass. it looks cooler with the seat cowl i just got. after i get everything done and painted i'll post up a thread with all my shit for sale. i might hang onto one of the blue pieces as a keepsake for my garage :)
