Wondering if anyone would be interested. I want to spruce up the inner airbox, and then show it off.

I am in contact with a person I know who is in the plastic business. Who would be interested in a nice sturdy Buell Airbox and Windscreen that is clear? What would you be willing to pay for these? Would you want a raised "BUELL" or just 100% smooth?

Clear airbox would be sweet! As long as it's cheaper than a kick-ash one as that's what I would purchase otherwise.

The translucent amber one would be cool - but I guess the already existing valencia orange one is close enough?

I would also be interested. As long as its cheaper than the ones already for sale like Sirius said.

Clear would be pretty cool. [up] And I agree, if they could be offered at a resonable price (cheaper, but without sacrificing quality) then I think some interest may grow. Other color options would add interest.

I think both the smooth and raised BUELL would look great. I've been fortunate to pick up a full set of plastics for my Scg for $100 and a front fender for $25... so my basis for price might be considerably under.

Interested to see where this goes.

I was thinking about doing this myself, but I am lazy and have a great career already, willing to pay $200.00 USD for airbox and flyscreen as a set, NO raised buell, (besides you may have copywrite issues with the name) you can always add stickers or whatever for that stuff, Individuals can paint the inside of the airbox anyway they want, eager for your product :) BRING IT!

NO raised buell, (besides you may have copywrite issues with the name)

That is my only concern with using the BUELL name. If that was the case then smooth would be the way to go.

Trademark (which is what I think Buell is)- "These rights will cease if a mark is not actively used for a period of time, normally 5 years in most jurisdictions"

How many years left until anyone can use BUELL with that style?

The translucent airboxes have terrible issues with cracking around the bolt holes. If you could beef these areas up to prevent the cracking, that would help extend the longevity of these things! I'd be intersted depending on quality and price point. I just think this will be a tough project to takle without costing too much?

Not up to me for costs. I am a purchasing manager by trade, and am taking bids for this work... I will let you guys know how it turns out.

I hope it does! That would be great to have another option! Best of luck brotha! [up]

interested.... i think too there will be a call for all colours as HD will stop supply of new ones.

as for the cracking. that is already an easy fit. use hte right fitment! the screws with spacers means no pressure on the plastic. i have never had a translucent crack since using hte correct screw kits.

Clear would be totally badass, Definitely interested. Can you make some clear levers to match?? :D

Somebody has done this...

Edit: can't find the picture but I saw it posted on one of the dragon ride pages a year or two ago.

How's he going to do this, vacuum forming? Should be pretty easy to do, once you make a mold.

Clear would be cool[up]. Think of a clear lexan RC car body (if your into that), you paint the inside any color you want, color shows through. Mask off designs etc. Great idea if the price is right.

True, there is special hardware that you use w/ the translucid airboxes.
