^yeah that's vacuum forming. If you have a mold it's very easy to do(and replicate). He would probably be able to do these fairly inexpensively.

Somebody has done this...

Edit: can't find the picture but I saw it posted on one of the dragon ride pages a year or two ago.

I gotcha covered.

newbueller91 is his screen name.

very unique, would be interested...if the price is right and I'd have a couple of sets painted in various flavors to swap out :p

pretty sure the wrinkle is just glare/reflection

Nope...It was a wrinkle. Not sure if this was his first try at it or not. Definitely an interesting look but not sure if it's my style. You'd have to be meticulous with it I'd think. Painting the back side like an R/C body is an interesting thought though. I look forward to seeing what you come up with Macbuell...Good luck! [up]

If he could do a whole range of parts like the Airbox Cover, Fender, Flyscreen, and Chin Spoiler in just clear. I'd pay as much for those as I would Carbon Fiber components. But if it only one part or two, it wouldn't blend together very well. I wouldn't worry about different colors. They can be spray tinted and cleared on the back side for color.

FYI on cracking translucents, I filled my gas tank a little over the top one day, and the overflow hose had fallen off, started driving down the road and to my suprise, I watch the plastic crack and spyderweb right before my eyes wherever gas splashed on it. learned a little there,

you could offer these with lexan as well as regular clear plastic? yes that would cost more, but I'm changing my tune on how much to pay and understand the cost involved,........... I WANT THAT PRODUCT! ...........sign me up!

i cant see the point in the front fender being clear. the reason it came black to start with on the translucent models is because of all the road grime on the underside. the same for the chin spolier. you would be taking it apart to clean every weekend!

i like hte idea of firebolt headlight fairing as well as the tail/seat cowl. if they were an option then i would take both a lightning and firebolt set.
