Triple Tail Question

so all the parts for the new trip assem finally came in, but wondering about this pin that is supposed to go in with the detent... reading both the parts manual and the service manual, still unsure of the placement of the pin. The only place I see for it is in the slot that the nub on the detent slides down on the LH grab handle... but looks like if I assemble it that way and then but the plastic bushing in then the detent wouldn't move at all... any ideas???

disreguard... unsure on the physics of how it works... but it works
