Anyone ever ride one of these? I am looking at it for my 2nd bike. Really like the style of it.

A friend and neighbor of mine owns one, he also owns an '07 Buell XBR, and a 1200 Sportster, and a Road King. He's retired from Rolls Royce AIrcraft Div. here in Indy. Most often I see him on the Buell and the Thruxton. Well come to think of it, lately mostly the Thruxton. This bike has huge smile factor, everytime I see him on it, all you can see under that open face helmet is shades and TEETH! I'm SERIOUSLY CONSIDERING buying one myself, for that reason alone.

I was days away from buying one when I found the Lightning locally at a dealer. I love the retro look of the Thruxton. The only bike better looking to me is the Norton Commando.
If I were you I'd try to find a triumph board and look around for complaints and problems.
Just my .02 :)

Norton Commados are awesome bikes. My dad had a couple when I was growing up. Would love to have one.

If you haven't seen the brand new ones you haven't seen a gorgeous bike yet. The old ones pale in comparison visually or mechanically. IMHO

Yeah ive been reading the thruxton forums. Alot of happy campers over there just like us with our buells. Ive never heard/seen a norton motorcycle. Are they sold in the US?

The only complaints about the Thruxton, is that if you push in the corners, you will notice the limits of it's suspension. Then again, it's not a race bike. It sure is sweet, and I would buy one as well.

very cool bike -

Not sure where you are located but I am in Mass and one of my best friends is thinking about selling his 2010. PM me if your interested.

arrow pipes and couple other things - black.

I rode it a few times - I don't love the seating position --- but I bet I would get used to it after a while. Just not as comfortable as the xb12s I currently have.

looks awesome and sounds amazing though -

CGO- had a sweet Thruxton he had after market wheels exhaust and a few other mods. I would PM him.

I just bought a brandy new one a week ago. I love it, just doesn't have the power of the Buell, of course.

It's comfy, it's easy to ride and I like it.

It's too quiet, so you'll need pipes and the seat isn't good for looong rides. I'm getting a gel seat as soon as my Buell stuff sells on eBay.

As for which pipes, according to my dealer, the Arrow & D&D pipes are nice but the British Customs Predators are best made for the bike and come with the best maps for performance.

my dad had one and sold it for his tiger and my mom had one and sold it for her street triple i rode both and they are so much fun to ride like stated before if you push it you will feel the limits of the suspension but olins and just about everyone else makes sups upgrades for it. as for the norton commando i have ridden a friends new one and i tell you what it isn't much different then h=the triumph but it cost about 11 thousand more. best bang for your buck is an older thruuxton pre 03 witht he 900 cc carbed motor in it many many mods for power and has the same sups as the brand new ones.
