So, A friend mentioned he had one available a couple days ago... it showed up on my doorstep today! Yay!! No more need to chop up my tail (can hang onto it in case I ever want to go back...), and it looked like a very simple install. Well, it was!

It is a very clean, simple solution, and although the tail light is significantly smaller than the stock unit, it actually works surprisingly well. If I feel like there is inadequate lighting at a later date, there is plenty of room right below it for an LED strip. But so far, I am very happy with how it turned out--and it complements my Oberon LED turn signals quite well.

Here are a few pics:

Removing the OEM tail (six bolts and disconnecting the turn signals and license plate light):

Slipping the Trojan Horse light in place:

Would be nice to run it this clean:

Thanks, Joel! I really like it as-is, but will keep that Twin Motorcycles light in mind.

I really like how everything fit perfectly--what a quality part should be!

Did you get my PM?

Just hadnt had a lotta shop time in the past couple weeks. I don't want to keep anybody waiting forever & 10 days. I might have a lil more time to work when I get back from vacation. I'm thinking I'll try a plate mount on the swingarm next. I'll keep you posted....

[up][up] No worries, Matt--this one is working out pretty cool! But yours looked finely made too--and I imagine there's a market for yours...
