So, A friend mentioned he had one available a couple days ago... it showed up on my doorstep today! Yay!! No more need to chop up my tail (can hang onto it in case I ever want to go back...), and it looked like a very simple install. Well, it was!
It is a very clean, simple solution, and although the tail light is significantly smaller than the stock unit, it actually works surprisingly well. If I feel like there is inadequate lighting at a later date, there is plenty of room right below it for an LED strip. But so far, I am very happy with how it turned out--and it complements my Oberon LED turn signals quite well.
