Truck Bedliner

that looks REALLY good...is that with a coat of satin over it?
Yea, I used satin to smooth the texture out a bit, and give it a little bit of gloss. Also, I think that it may keep the bedliner from fading.

I'm not going to do this over my black plastics...I have a showyo ramair airbox and a beat up kick ash flyscreen that will be getting the truck liner/satin black overcoat. Hope I have time to do it this weekend!

I'm thinking about a project like that for some time now. I want a lot more texture though. I'm going to start collecting the plastics soon.

@ Atomicpunk - looks really smooth, great job!

I use it on the insides of the fenders of all my rides. keeps the carbon from chipping and pitting the metal from grit.

Flyscreen is done, airbox has the bedliner coat on, going to spray the satin on tomorrow. So far everything looks great, can't wait to get it finished and mounted on the bike!

Let me know how the paint and the satin hold up for you. Do you ride in all weather?? Salty roads e.t.c? I am having problems with my satin gloss.

LOL! That AC/DC song Back in Black is in my head now! Nice looking Bike! Have you considered painting your primary cover black as well? Painting the engine orange would be very cool to.

Please post some pics when done.

I try not to ride in the rain if I can help it, sometimes I get caught in it. No salt on the roads where I live in California. If I take a ride up in the foothills, or Lake Tahoe area, I will always check the weather forecast.

Definitely will...airbox and flyscreen are done, just need some time to cure. Started the front fender this morning, sanded and sprayed the bedliner on it, will do the satin coat this afternoon.

No salt in vegas, so no worries there for me.[up]

I mentioned in some forum that I was considering using some truck bedliner on my 2006 XL883 Sportster tank because I like a magnetic tank bag, and it's scratching my tank. Geez-you would have thought I was going to paint it pink or something. My XCL is in vivid black anyway, and IO could actually just do a strip about 8" wide down the middle. Or do the whole tank.

I've seen Buell XB12Xs done in bedliner, and they looked fine.

Nice to see I'm not the only one with Redneck tendencies!

Sorry to dig up an old thread, but my little brother wants to try the bedliner on his plastics and loves the way atomicpunk's turned out

is there a how to thread?

What product(s) was used to get the finish so nice like that?!

he used rustoleum bed liner spray. make sure to use that brand. ive tried others and they dont spray as well. then he painted it with a satin black. its in the posts if you read the thread.
