Hey guys, I've been trying to get any tuning software to recognize my 2008 Buell XB12Ss ECM, and so far, I've not succeeded. I am using an FTDI USB cable from WireNest on eBay. I've tried reading every troubleshooting guide I can find, using the old ECMSpy v1.12.27 as well as the new ECMSpy v2.0.31.2, and even TurnerPro RT v5.0 and so far none of them will even acknowledge my Buell ECM.

I've tried updating the FTDI drivers to several versions, tried using different ports, setting the correct COM Port, different sequences of turning the bike on and off while the software searches. I am starting to think the cable is bad.

If anyone has any other ideas, please feel free to chime in. -Thanks!! -Matt

das kommt davon, wenn man zu geizig ist, qualität zu kaufen.

I know some of the new cables out there are not made well so what you can do is take apart the end that goes in to the bike and make sure they are crimped right but be careful and pry the orange end out then release the tabs inside that hold the pins. Then push the pins out the back do one at a time so you know where each one goes. look at the wire to make sure each wire is in back of pin are tight ( I soldered mine ) then reinstall them and put orange cap end back in. Hope that helps you out.

Or if you want to go new route, ^^^ Ready xb was selling them and they are good quality but don't know if he is still selling them. Thank you Ready

Thanks for the suggestions guys, I checked the cable and it looks correct as best I can tell, looking at some other diagrams and cable guides online. My suspicion is that the FTDI chip is bad and won't let the PC communicate with the Buell ECM. I am sending this cable back and hopefully getting one that works this time.

ReadyXB, are you still making cables? I am wanting one that will allow logging. -Thanks!

I sure am. There is a website link in my profile. I would hate for you to purchase another cable without knowing your current one has an issue, though. Any luck since your last post?
