Tuning on Buells

Buellxb Forum

Help Support Buellxb Forum:

Awesome info Dean, thanks for the link.

It would be a shame if Mike could'nt continue to offer his services as they are a much appreciated endeavor.

Let's keep this bumped for maximum views

I will for sure go donate, plus I need a tune. I dont mind at all helping mike get back into tuning these sweet bikes.

This guy cant even respond to my email's (four now actually) i have about purchasing a race map from him for the race exhaust.

Ok, so his website has some user interface issues. Aside from it being hard to understand what exactly the tunes entail is there any light that can be shed on his tunes? For instance I have a stock 1125 and plan on keeping the stock exhaust due to volume level. Could I get a tune from him that would rival an EBR ecm?

I think you just send him your stock map, he walks you through the process. Tell him what you want, he sends you a map. You upload the map, do a test run. Send the map back, he tweaks again, and sends you a finer tuned map. Test ride again.... You like?, you're done.

okay guys (and gals, there used to be a few on here) this is the way I see it.

Especially with the outcome of the EBR situation being unknown right now, we are our best hope at the continuing capability of our motorcycles. I am okay with that. I have been on this forum for several years now. We are unlike any other internet community I have ever come across. We have a knowledge base and skill set collectively than any other group. This forum community has a kindred spirit that reflects Erik's. 'Fiercely Independent'. New people post their problems with their bikes and different people here rally around and help them sort it out. I've seen members bend over backwards, sometimes donating parts free of charge or greatly reduced to get a fellow bueller back up and running. The collective knowledge base and skill set is amazingly diverse and encompassing. From members such as Dean, UMDterp and others that have side businesses supporting Buells, to the engineering capabilities of guys like Eric_Z and others. We come from all walks of life chasing our motorcycle common bonds. Just the shear number of engineers mechanical and electrical represented here is amazing. WE ARE OUR BEST HOPE. WE HAVE TO SUPPORT EACH OTHER OR NONE OF US ARE GOING TO MAKE IT. I have seen good people like LunaticFringe with years of experience of motorcycles help people work out there issues. We have all been down about issues with our bikes at one time or another, and ready to walk away from Buells for good, and the others rally on and urge them to stand up and dust off and et back in the saddle. Even though we are an International forum, there is a strong American spirit of not giving up and soldiering on. Please help support those that help us. We are the spirit of Buells and we will weather the current storm and prevail. Our strength is in our spirit and our camaraderie.

So ante up, chip in a few bucks or what you can. Pay it forward, backward or what ever your situation may be.

I chipped in a few bucks. Lets keep this going guys. I need a tune so michael cant quit us know :).

thanks very much for the kind words john. you're a hell of a great bueller and a credit to this site as well.

just read the latest in the EBR bankruptcy thread. People going back and forth about the Buells vs Japanese imports and price competiveness.I just got my bike running again yesterday. Its been down since October. Still have a little seepage around the stator cover but tightened it up again and got it down to seeping about a tablespoon an hour. Anyway, took it out for a short ride locally, stopping every so often to check and snug the cover bolts up a little, I HAVE MISSED RIDING. It's like therapy to my soul. Started up a long uphill stretch that has some sweeping curves. I have my girlfriend on the bike. As we start up the hill a guy and his girlfriend pull upside on a Busa. That thing is huge and heavy! It started getting a little spirited on the way up the hill. :D It wasn't even close. Both of us were being reserved because of our passangers, but my 1125 is so much lighter and flickable and the torque difference was very evident coming out of the curves. Have had a lot of bikes, Japanese, British, sport, sport touring. I love my BUELL. It's bad ass to ME. Wouldn't trade it for the world.

Gofundme is becoming a plague. Personally, there is no way in hell I'm donating any money to someone who can neither describe in detail how my money will be used/invested/spent let alone write coherent sentences on why I should donate in the first place.

To provide context, my point of view is that of a sole proprietor who started a business, invested in its tools/software/equipment with his own funds with no handouts requested or accepted. You want to make something a success, you put your cash, blood, sweat and tears into it.
