I used to use a two-finger pull to shift on my R6, sometimes power shifted it, but on the Buell, I'm afraid to wreck the trans so I do a full pull on the clutch?

Can the two-finger pull be used on the v-twin, or is it safer to pull the clutch all the way in?

On my XB's cable clutch I always did a full pull, and would occasionally preload the upshift and power shift it (clutchless) which is fine. As long as you power shift with a firm stroke you won't hurt a motorcycle transmission ... it's when you try to feather it in or are weak with it that does damage. Demand the gear change! With that said I only power shifted to the top 3 gears ... I didn't like the "jolt" from power shifting the lower gears.

On my CR the hydraulic clutch is butter, just a quick two finger pull about 1".

I have shifted with 2 fingers since I bought my bike. I guess you could say I'm a hooligan because I pretty much wheelie every chance I get. I bought my bike with 3,800 Miles on it and I'm pushing 16,000 on it now. No issues so far except for my upper fork bushings making a clicking sound but no clutch or engine issues. (KNOCKS ON WOOD!!!!!!!!!)[up]

Full pull for sure! The other day I dropped the clutch into second with a 2 finger pull & lifted the front end about 2 ft' just about s*@t a brick.woohoo my first wheelie

I think I might be misunderstanding this. What do you guys mean by two finger pull? I physically use two fingers to pull in my clutch all the way and shift. The way you guys make it sound is as if a two finger pull is that you only pull the clutch in half way or so. Please clarify this for me.

dont your other two fingers get in the way? I know when i pull the clutch with my index and middle finger it cant go nearly as far because of my ring and pinky finger. Maybe you lost yours in an unfortunate table saw accident.

It also depends on the levers... i have shorties and can pull it in full with 2 fingers. Full levers I couldn't

For taking off and low speed stuff (1st & 2nd) full pull to the handlebar, but after that I just pull it in half way with my pinkie and ring finger floating and using my **** you finger and pointer to do the pulling to about halfway. There's no point in doing a full pull while hauling ass, you make a big enough disconnection going half way to allow for a smooth shift still.
