Went to the car wash, they were polishing their chrome pipes and looked like they had been there a while. I spent 5 minutes spraying my bike after I rode in the rain the other night (3:30 was on the wash timer, I add a few seconds to get my gear back on and whatnot). When I left, both were STILL polishing their pipes...stunning. Get out and ride.

p.s I think both were jealous of my Hawk sound :)

Yep, I have a friend that rides a HD. I called him a few weekends ago to see if he wanted to go for a ride. We had a few bike going already. His response was, if you guys wait until the roads dry out I will go but I dont want to get the bike dirty. The roads were wet from the rain the night before. Haha, hes off my call list now. It was 75 degrees and not a cloud in the sky, was a great ride.

looked into the victory not bad i dont like the 1950's sleek back style though...i cleaned mine took forever after going on a 3hr ride took me everybit of 10min i think

Gatorbuell, i have a friend with an 04 9r and every single time ive called him this season so far hes turned me down. its really starting to get 2 me. he doesnt deserve that wonderful machine and i want to split them up

I can care less what people ride as long as they ride. My favorite new quote "30 grand and 30 miles dont make you a biker".

I feel kinda bad saying it but I cleaned my bike twice in the year and a half I've owned it. The wheels are dirty as hell. I just keep up with maintenance and it's fine. I'd rather be out riding than cleaning my bike. IT being dirty just shows I use it... a lot.

This is funny my dad a Harly rider always gets on to me about my m2 being dirty everytime he sees it and claims I do not take care of it because it is dirty and I always tell him it is because i am too busy riding it to clean it.

macbuell, I have zero chicken strips on the rear and very minimal ones on the front. I changed from my forever lasting dunlop and put a Perellion the front and the dunlop on the rear.

I really can't fault an HD rider wanting to keep their bikes clean, they spent ALOT of money buying that look. They have to see it through!!!!

True...I have a buddy with an old shovelhead with all the chrome crap. He keeps asking me when I will man up and put chrome on my bike. I just laugh and go on with my business.

chrome looks good on bikes when done tastefully, I however prefer a flat black bobber. Thats where HD started on the street, IMO.

I cleaned my last bike once before I sold it. The Buell hasn't been cleaned yet. That is how you do things.

My last bike used to get cleaned all the time..... everytime it rained in fact. When I'd hear some rain drops I'd go push it out of the garage so it could get showered on for an hour or so.

If and when I buy a Harley, it will have no chrome on it whatsoever.

I want to RIDE, not polish chrome!

I'm with you. I looked at the Fatboy Low recently and said I'd take it in denim black only. This way I could ride, come home and spray it off. no polishing for me.
