not sure if there is a post like this?

need some info on what tyre pressure to run on hard, gravel roads this weekend.

last time i rode it as it was and the handling was fine - just scared of messing up tyres.

thanx!

For gravel I might be inclined to lower the pressure a bit to get more contact area. I doubt you run the risk of over heating them on dirt but I really dont know.

OK cool - i will deflate a bit once i hit the gravel.

handling was OK last time - managed 80km/h comfortably.
have some air bombs with me to inflate again - so let's see...

Actually, deflating them too much can cause problems in it's self, especially when switching between gravel and blacktop.

What I run is 34F, 36R on gravel and 36F, 42R on blacktop. Tires wear better/ more even on blacktop at the higher values.

I ended up running same pressure throughout, as the road wasn't too bad - seems like they scraped the surface.

But i have started riding with air bombs, digital tyre gauge and emergency tyre "weld" - just for in case...
