Anybody ever taken a Uly on a track?

I am interested in taking a track class, the only bike I own that runs anyways, is my Uly. I have never been on a track before so that why I wanted to take the class.

Go for it! Might not get knee down but any bike can be ran on the track.

You may want to consider stiffening the front end. The Uly has a lot of front end dive when hard on the brakes. My 06 does compared to my 05 Lightning - both stock. I'm not sure if later year Uly's had stiffer springs or not.

From what I've hear, you'll have fun on anything. There's been cruisers and even goldwings do trackdays in my area. You get to learn THAT BIKE really well. Doesn't matter what "that bike" is.

Sweet!! I think the 09 Uly has progressive springs? At least I think they added the progressive ones either 08, or 09. I do notice a difference when I wheelie when it is in the high 30's to low 40 degrees the front end does dive quite a bit as compared to warmer temps. I only do power wheelies as I am trying to improve my skills before I start clutching up the front end. You know the basic skills I really suck at, like braking, downshifting, cornering, wheelying, etc.... I think the only thing I do well is surviving, commuter traffic, bad weather riding, 2 up riding, I must have enough wisdom to acknowledge what I am not capable of to keep the rubber side down, so far I have been able to do that.

I think you'll be just fine for the occasional track day. I've seen a KLR650, running a 21/18 wheel combo, out there before. Certainly Supermotos are no strangers to the track either. Go for it!
