My wife let me escape the house today so I could work on the tail tidy. Took a couple of hours to cut it out, bend it and test fit to make sure it would fit. The template was spot on except for the lock mechanism hole - it was too far forward and contacted the tip-over sensor. We had to move it back about 1.5". I was going to fill the extra hole but realized I need a hole to run my wiring, so I'll just install a grommet there. I still need to round some edges, do a little trim work and paint it but I think it came out pretty good. I'll probably move the inspection sticker bracket behind the license plate to clean it up even more. I did notice there is a gap between the tail tidy and the bottom of the tail, so I'll need to come up with something to seal it off. I have an idea of what I want to do, but it requires removing the tail piece and I didn't have time for it today.

You said you had to move the lock hole back an inch and a half? Could you tell me which is the lock hole and which way back is by maybe drawing it on the template. It really looks like your project came out great and I would like to duplicate it.

Thanks

Jeff

It's the one with the notch - I had to move it toward the Pegasus logo. The logo was not cut out though.

What is hanging below the license plate?

My inspection sticker tag - I will probably move it behind the license plate, even though that's not legal. :D

Well done! :)
You can put your lock hole almost anywhere as it has enough room with cable to work with. You should keep keyhole well lubricated or make some protection for it because it will get dirty easily.

haha, saw on your axle slider post that u did a tail tidy and asked u to post pics...forget it, i found this thread! Nice one :)

I was painting the tail section the other day and when I removed the tail tidy, I noticed it had cracked at the bend. Looks like I'll be looking for something to reinforce it.
