Hi there, I am looking to buy a Ulysses XT and have found a nice one not to far from me. The trouble is, it is advertised as an 10, but when I saw the pictures of it, I realised it is in fact an 09 model.
The question is, is there that much improvement between an 09 and a 10 year model, should I hold on to get a 10 or buy the 09. I am concerned about wheel bearing issues more than the cosmetic changes to the 10, also interested what you think about the new ECM flash that came with the later model and the better comfort kit.

Many Thanks

The only differences I can think of are the additional rear wheel bearing, and the additional 02 sensor... You can always buy a 2010 rear wheel (or change your bearings on a schedule). I don't believe the extra '10 sensor to be any sort of real advantage...

Thank you for your reply, it has given me confidence to go for an 09 bike. The next thing is to decide on the red or the black one :)

yeah **** HD for dumping Buell. I love my XB12Ss but i wanted to get a ULY also for loading up with bags and to be my go anywhere escape bike . Can't get a new one now ....

either/or will serve you well as Ulys are wonderful bikes. great MPG, very comfy, uniqueness, great ergonomics, incredible torque, robust mechanics, V-twin power. the rear wheel bearing failure on 08 and earlier XB's i believe to be a bunch of internet hype as i've put a total to date of over 20K miles on a firebolt, lightning and uly all with the "2-bearing" rear wheel design and never a problem. now but it!!!!!:p

Go for the black one! :D

They are awesome - great for everyday commute, long distance trips and handles the gravel roads just as well!
You won't regret it!

Well I have bought a black 09 XT, with 9000 miles on the clock, one owner from new, in mint condition and full HD service history.
The only trouble is, I have to wait until Tuesday to pick it up, on the plus side, I will have a 350 mile ride back home, so I should get a good chance to get to know the bike.
I will post some pics once I get the bike back home :D
