Is anyone familiar with the 'Uni Filter Street Bike Air Filter' for a 2005 Buell Firebolt 12XB? Would like some opinions before I decide to purchase this filter or not.
Thank you!

I agree with lunatic, go with the K&N washable filter. Just make sure to let it dry and treat it prior to re installing it.

Thank you Lunatic! I'll go to that site and purchase the K&N!

my pleasure. the filter element is special cotton. the filtering media is the oil. you ALWAYS use K&N filter wash to clean them and you ALWAYS re-oil with K&N filter oil. do NOT use anything else. and to a point the dirtier it gets the better it filters. the captured dirt in conjunction with the oil and cotton acts as the filtering media.

If you let the bike sit for awhile you should re-oil the K&K before using. I once bought a UNI for one of the Buell's. Can't say anything good or bad except that it looked awfully porous. Stopped using it and bought a second K&N.

Recently retreated mine, bead on every pleat makes you crazy and will take some time to drain off completely. You probably want the spray as the squeeze bottle made one hell of a mess. Engine didn't much care for it either, took a few miles to choke it clear. Looking back there must be a better way but it's all good now so beats buying a new filter I guess.
