nice bike guess the effort pays off. the xbs has the streetfighter look covered! BTW what did you have to give for the ceramic coating for your race exhaust, if you don't mind sharing?

Thanks GatorBuell and 1stxb9r....

As for the muffler coating, I actually did it myself. I work in automotive manufacturing and have a supplier that has a canned ceramic coating... Almost the same as like a Duplicolor ceramic paint that you can buy at like Canadian Tire (or stateside AutoZone). Anyways I just sand blasted the muffler, hung it in the garage, sprayed as directed, then BBQ'ed it for 2.5hrs at 300F. Cost no more than 8 dollars.

It's been holding up great so far. I also plan on doing the header in the winter.

I can't find the link to the Turn Signal mod... but that's pretty simple as well.

Just remove the windscreen, take the turn signals off and remove the spacer in between. Next you want to find yourself a piece of tubing or a sleeve of some sort

I just used the spacer itself when I did mine.

That is one friggin sharp looking bike! If I may suggest a few things: I spent about 15-20 bucks and got all stainless hardware from McMaster-Carr online (instead of repainting) their site is super nice to use and almost everything comes next-day, and I'd get the Knight Designs brake reservoir cover as it would match your black-silver scheme (got mine on ebay). There are also black bullet-style turn signals on ebay that match the round front lights. Just thought I'd throw those out there.

thanks TechMagic... I thought of going that route with the stainless hardware but decided just to paint, really no reason other than having a can of black paint handy.

And good call on the Brake Reservoir I just ordered one from E-bay..

Very nice man I love it. How loud is that exhaust? Where did you get the end mirrors? Got a link to that DIY tail chop? Awesome pics man.

Thanks!

The exhaust is nice and loud... but I find that if your in the right gear city cruising you can keep a fairly low tone.

The bar end mirrors I got from motowheels.com, great product at a great price... the mirrors take some getting used to but they are worth it. After a few rides they become second nature.

As for the tail chop, unfortunately I didn't take any photos in process but will take some closer shots to give the idea.

hey meetch was wondering if you could take some front and rear pictures? Would love to see how far your front and rear turn signals stick out.

nicely done...reminds me of my bike..haha

Jreinke,
I don't have a link or write up on the tail chop but have a look at some of the photos below. Some chopping, cleaning, drilling, tapping, painting and assembly.

Meetch, how about the black primary and oil covers? Did you paint those yourself? What did you use?

Daponik,
The primary cover and oil covers are original. didn't do anything to them.

jreinke,

Thanks but you should give it a shot yourself really nothing to it.
