used ecm spy to do tps reset..and BIG PROBLEM

i ordered the plugs..but they listed only the 8 so i oredered that. the stock harley plugs i pulled out had carbon on the outside but i am sure that is from when it was running so crappy with my first tps reset..i did it again and it seems to be returning to idle normally..but when you raise it just above idle the rpms go up and down quite a bit. then it still bogs and sounds like it is cutting out when you blip the throttle. i hope the plugs help...but somehow i think that is not it. there are no codes by the way.

The 8 & 9 is just the plug's heat rating - with the 8 being the hotter heat rating of the 2. Seen posts with both 8's & 9's causing "problems" - and "fixed" it by running the other heat rating. Though I'm thinking if it's not running right because of a plugs heat rating - that swapping to the other heat rating is just fixing the symptom, not the root problem. I run the 9's with no problems because that seems to be the majority.

This is the same exact problem I am having....I know what I did. I hooked up EMCSPY, while checking out the menues I just hit the "tps reset" and then continued on to loading the race map. my bike is all screwed up. I then tried to do the TPS reset correctly after watching the video and still couldn't get it to run good. so now after reading this tread I see that the map that is loaded is all wrong because the TPS was wrong when I loaded the map. so as of now I need to figure out how to set everthing (even TPS) to factory.... I think I'm just going to take it to the shop. want my bike to run, and everthing I'm trying doesn't seem to be making it better.

if you have stock ecm your % is 5.2 to 5.5 if you have stock ecm with ecmspy and maps on it you set at 4.6 to 5.1 i have stock ecm with exhaust and intake and set mine to 5.5 and then ajust idle speed and bike runs great .

ive set it to 5.5 three times and loaded a new map 3 times, and still wont idle, just dies. wrap the trottle and spats, farts, pops n backfires, n runs like crap. i dont know what else to try. closest buell shop is over an hour away, called them today and they are backed up for a month. ugh...

Quick question for you..?? Wen you adjust the idle y does the TPS back down to 4.7, because when it reads 5.1 -5.7 v on the TPS it idles at 12-1300. Am I incorrectly adjusting the idle??

you want to set tps to the degrees witch is 5.5 on the left bottom of screen. when bike goes from openloop to closedloop then you set your idle witch is 5.1% yes you are setting it wrong.
