then that would be the answer to a question of caparison I guess... sorry I have no understanding of either engine at this point. Here is a question; do any Buells have v-rods as you say?

as the chief said...the V-rod VRSC motor shares absolutely positively nothing in common with any Buell motor be it tuber frame....XB...or 1125. nothing. engine architecture....parts interchangeability....build platform....plant of origin....nothing. i'd also add that looking at your pic the spark plugs shown were the OEM plugs originally installed in all XB's. go down one heat range when replacing.

If I were you I would listen to John aka( lunatic) very carefully he is the Buell whisperer and the man when it comes to Buells.

As a wrench for 20 years, i am totally agreeing with John, which is why im guessing you made this post, because you are confused with the different colors of your plugs. Different engines different plug colors.....air cooled are always a bit blacker.... liquid always have the happy charcoal color.....unless you buy one of Johns used bike.....in which they run and burn flawless for some unknown reason.....Thanks John.....loving the 12!

hey sean and was wondering if you got in much saddle time on that cherry bomb. ecstatic you're happy with it. that bike was arguably the smoothest running most seamless fueling 12 i ever owned. and thanks for the kind words son.

yea.. forget v-rods, it was just me trying to find out more about the 2006 FireBolt powerplant... I still don't know anything about the history of the motor on my bike but I do know its not a V-Rod thanks to some slapping up by Chief  I just threw the plugs in there because you guys don't come out and play unless pictures and video hehe

history of the motor? ok. in 1950 mother H-D comes out with their first "unit-construction" bike called the K model. google it. what is "unit construction"? think every single jap bike ever made. it means engine/trans contained in one box. the K morphed in 1957 into the sportster. google 1957 sportster. the sportster motor was updated and refined thru the years and was the basis of what buell used in the tube-frame buells known as tubers. that powerplant was further refined to the point where the only thing it shared with a sportster powerplant was architecture, firing order, cadence, sound. that motor became your XB motor. simplify things: google 1957 sporster engine and 2003 buell xb engine. you'll see the resemblance and common architecture. watch vid below. what else would you need to know?
