I remember seeing that some of you have VW's in your garage. I currently have a 2002 GLS 1.8T with a jacked up ecu. I've uncovered a little tid bit of info about possibly gaining an extra 40-50 horses simply by switching to the wolfsburg ecu. you guys know naything about this? where i might find one? is it as simple as the ecu or will i need new harnesses and other conversion stuff?

with an 02 you should be able to get the thing re-flashed without buying a new ECU at all. look online for companies that will do it for you. I had it done while I was in Florida to my VR6 and it worked out great. it also solved my ECU problem with it dumping its own programming.

go to apr.com and find a dealer who offers their software. Its not cheap but its worth the trouble.

I actually live by apr's headquarters they are badass... and the site is www.goapr.com

nuage is it go fast yet?

back when I had mine [sad]

I do this kind of thing as a hobby (can't really call it a hobby when you look at the prices of the hardware, my gf tells me [mad]). You can't just switch the ECU around. With the right tools you can make it work, but it's quite a hassle. It's easier to just have it tuned by someone nearby. Do your research before picking someone, the tuning bizz is full is know-it-alls that actually don't know much. ;)

Holy Smokin Jetta!

I love VW's man, I had a 71 Bus for a minute, but it turned into a money pit.
I made mad friends in that thing though. They wall wanted illegal substances though.
