Guess I got too exited about the nice weather today - or maybe it was the kids running around that made me not pay attention.
Checked oil before going on a ride and saw this when came home. Didn't tighten the oil cap.
Luckily I only went 30 miles and not sure when I lost it.

Yeah, my thoughts. That could have been bad. Was riding on highway. City stop and go would have been worse.
Can't tell how much I lost, oil light did not come on. new dipstick is ordered.
Was lucky

yikes saftie! i think most all of us have done that at one time or another be it car, bike, etc
probably telling you something here you already realize and plan on doing but i would get a can of brakekleen, remove the rear caliper, remove the pads, and really clean them well....and the rotor. appears the oil probably landed on pads.

I've done it. Luckily i only rode about three miles. Walked it on foot and found it.

I didn't lose much oil though.

Unintended breather mod... Lol
Brakes seemed ok but will check thoroughly when I have new cap and refill oil.

Wow! Glad you are ok. Safe to assume no contaminants fell in or should you drain the oil and refill?

lmao i did this on my old blast about 2 years ago, only anyone who has owned a blast knows the dipstick is right in front of the gas cap. rode down the street and back and came back covered from head to toe in oil. I looked like something out of an old road runner cartoon :p

don't worry, things happen even to the best of us... at least you didn't do what i did a couple of months ago!
