was thinking about opening my stock airbox

Hi all,
I have an 06 xb9r. It has a k@n air filter,ebr racing ecm and d@d exhaust. I was thinking about opening my air box some for better cold air. If i do that d o i need to have the ecm retuned? Also whats the best way of opening it? I was thinking about just opening the vent port on the airbox cover,then opening the airbox in the same spot to get a ram air effect. Any thoughts? Im new to Buells. Owned mine for 2 weeks.

I would get another one to mess with. I didn't like how loud it sounded. I thought it was annoying and sounded gay going down the highway. The gains are minimal if any at all (opinion, never dyno tested it). So if you cut up your only one it's nice to have a spare stock box to go back the way it was.
You won't get a ram air outta the buell in this design. The bikes that rock carbs under the seat did fine in the seventies. The Buell does great with how it is now for spirited street riding.

Ill have to look and see if I still have mine, I went to the ASB open filter. Ill let you know if I do since im so close anyway.
