just saw this today and it serves as a reminder that you should always keep your head on a swivel when you're riding and check your mirrors when you are at a stop light.

for those of you who aren't snowed in and unable to ride, be safe out there!!!

Damn. Watching that video made me realize that if that happened to me, seeing my bike on the ground like in thousands of pieces would make me heartbroken. It would be like loosing a loved one.

Another thing.... Damn, I've never seen a better anti GSXR add. That thing blew up!

thanks for getting that youtube video in there dave. it wouldn't work for me to use the embed code.

I'm definately investing in a gopro! This kinda ******** would go to court and be the "street racer on the crotchrocket"s fault any day, if it comes down to a jury. Just sayin'.

In the public's uneducated eye

If you ride a sportbike of any kind, you = kid riding wheelie on the highway at 200 mph (which is sadly sometimes true)

If you ride a cruiser of any kind, you = Hell's Angel (or a poser with bad overall hygiene) either one is scary

We have to not only protect ourselves from an accident of anykind(gear), but also have a defense in cases like this, and the off duty cop who drew his gun on the rider, and the cop who shot the rider on the Harley, and any of the other situations where its automatically the bad bad biker's fault, purely because he is on two wheels.

Sorry for the rant, this is just how I see it playing out :)

wow. its like hte guy was just standing with his feet down and his bike was litterally destroyed underhim. just walks from it.

damn lucky that he didnt get more impact to propell him into the car in front, but i bet he has a sore arse and back.

i try never stopping dead center behind a car like that, just for that reason. i always try stopping close to one side (rear quarter) or hte other. it allows you to be able to squirt forward if you happen to see it coming. even if he saw that car behind, he had no where to go.

Damn good video, at first seeing the title I thought it was another BadWeb thread ;)

Similar thing happened to me 10 years ago. Stopped at a red light and a drunk driver in a truck plowed through me. Was launched 30ft and lucky I wasn't run over by cross traffic. The guy took off but a good sameritan chased him while calling the cops.

I am with Dave too, after all the work I will have into my bike, even the Insuance payment won't cover my time and effort into the bike, let alone the aftermarket and custom parts.

i got missed by inches this summer.guy hit the car in front of me.he never hit the brakes and was going between 40-50 mph.

look again he hit his head on the SUV infront of him if it wasnt for that he probably would have been launched 10-15+ feet.

same thoughts here on getting a camera
i would to if it was completely hidden , a camera on your head kinda looks wierd or like your some wanta be ******* stupid stunter=not a good thing...

me too

october 2009 while i was stopped at a stop light, there was some woman driving and texting or talking on her cell phone , she was going 50mph and she hit the little suv behind me and it rammed the suv into my car shoving me out into the middle of the intersection, I was so pissed off. I asked the girl in the suv if she was ok and if the woman that hit us was ok, while i dialed 911. the front of her car was smashed like an accordion. i probably would have been sent to the hostipal or worse if that would of happened while on my bike. i think the fines for text driving should be severly expensive and if you get 2 in a year have your license revoked.

I think I would have been crying seeing that happen to my bike. When I was hit by a car almost a year ago that's all I was asking about, me: "How's the bike?" them: "Sir it's seen better days, and we think your leg may be shattered" me: "Okay, how's the bike?" I had my priorities straight!

i got hit like that on my scooter when i first started riding, all of a sudden i was on a hood of a car in pain... woman on her phone.
