Anyone have their own web page, I need some info. How much does it cost on average what is a good service to use. Im kinda clueless about it. I want to set up a page for local rides with my friends. I have around 30 people I ride with on different occasions and need a central location to post rides and info.

XB9SBear would probably know a lot more about how they set it up than me... but the HillCountry HellBuellies here in Austin keeps everything on Yahoo's User Groups site. I'm pretty sure that it's free too...

Rob?

wierd... Firefox is going crazy on me and reading only from Cache now.... sorry for the double post.

If you are looking for something professional, I use JustHost for a project at work. They seem pretty decent, its like 20$/month with unlimited bandwidth.

There are plenty of free sites out there that do hosting as well. Godaddy.com and Tripod.com come to mind right away. You just have to deal with the ads at the top of the screen. (my brother's site (jessepascoe.com) is a good example of the ads that come with the service.

If you have someone that is slightly more computer nerdy with a good internet connection you can set up your own webserver fairly easily and cheaply. As long as your not hosting a whole pile of pictures or videos.

Microsoft Office 2007 (maybe 2003 too) allows u to build/design ur own website for free. then Godaddy or Tripod host for free to. really easy. i did 8 pages in about 1/2 day. just added pics and captions and customized it here and there.
