Help Support Buellxb Forum:

I made te same topic about this a while back. the mods said there isnt really nothing they can do except delete them when they see them.

Why don't they make someone a mod to strictly deal with these awful posts. I am sure one of the older members wouldn't mind doing it. I would offer but I don't want to step on toes. I have been here a while but there are others that have more time in than me. However, I do have a smart phone and computer access almost 24/7 so I would be willing to delete spam.

^^^not working maybe we should use captcha or if we use recaptcha we can help translate scanned books into a digital format. "buellxb.com doing the world a service, one word at a time."

"I just want you all to know that I'm not ignoring the spam issue. We added a couple new mods months ago to help us keep up our manual efforts. I've personally been banning users and IP addresses in addition to deleting spam if I happen to catch it before our awesome mod team.

Captcha is old technology that doesn't really stop much. Popular forum spam software like Xrumer can easily work around some of the most advanced captchas, automatically create fake email addresses and validate those emails. It's really insane. Also, real humans that want to spam our forum will always be able to do so regardless of the actions I take.

I do have a developer working on a custom solution that will hopefully slow down the spam. Keep in mind that all popular forums experience spam. It comes with the territory.

Thank you all for your patience."

I personally don't think it's that big of a deal just ignore it. It'll go away after a little while.

over the last few months iv gotten use to them.it dosnt seem like there is anything anyone can do about it so dont worry about it.besides it gives me a reason to post smilies.:D

it dosnt seem like there is anything anyone can do about it

how come the other forums i frequent dont have this problem?

the other forums i visit have 43k and 300k members. so they are much bigger than this site but somehow i never see spam posts.

i guess i dont follow that logic. if other forums have methods to prevent it why cant this one employ the same technologies as others. if its an issue of cost than that is completely understandable.

I think it's a language issue. You can post a thread with the topic in another language, but you just can't read it. lame.
