On monday, I was hit pretty much head on by a lady who didnt see me. She saw the car behind me but didnt see me, and tried to beat it while turning into a driveway for a Lewis drug store. I did my best to avoid it but it was too late and I hit her car, flew off my bike into her windshield and broke it, launched up the windshield and flipped through the air, eventually landing on my back and sliding a ways. I came away with only a concussion, bruised pelvis, and a fractured wrist. Please wear your gear and helmets guys. I would be dead if I wasnt. Ill get some pics up later. Shes totaled though.

Glad to hear your okay for the most part. Sorry to hear about the bike but you can always get another down the road. I can't tell people enough ATGATT.

Real sorry to hear about your mishap.
It's always some stupid cager not seeing a motorcyclist that puts one of us in the hospital.
I hope you have a speedy recovery.

Good that you was wearing your gear. I have been hit twice by the 'I never seen him' crowd. Heal up, get new gear and you'll be Buellin in no time.

GEAR, GEAR, GEAR!!!!!! Rather sweat than bleed. Glad u only walked away w semi minor injuries. Hope u the best on getting back in the saddle on a new buell. Sorry this happened to ya man...best wishes

you earned your stripes on that one.. I went over the cab when I got hit back in 94.. you did good. I didn't walk away from mine.. almost 2 years to recover. You going to part that bike out or did insurance total it? It actually doesn't look that bad from here..

Let insurance total it, get your money(assuming you have coverage on it), buy it back for a fraction of the price, part it out or sell as is. By the time you can ride again you will have the money for a nicer Buell.

I dont think i want to mess with it and try to fix it. Forks are bent, frame is jacked up. rim is probably bent. I think people around here are just too into their phones and its only a secondary offense to be texting and driving. Cops dont care and dont enforce it. People simply dont pay attention so i think im gonna stay off the road for a while. Get back into dirt. Ill stay on here and offer my skills and advice. Plus i got some buell tools ill probably need to sell. Thank you guys for everything! this was the absolute best bike i ever owned and it makes me very upset that its now ruined.

Think long and hard before you let something go that you love because of someone else's stupidity!

well before, it was kind of fun to honk at people who were texting and driving, and i knew there was a possibility of getting hit by a careless person. I just didnt think it would impact my life the way it has. The look on my family's face as I was laying in the ER is not something I care to see again.

Wow! 2 years?

A uly sounds like an absolute PERFECT choice for ya right now......go get it and just keep it in the shop for awhile til ur ready. Good luck and keep us updated

I was doing everything I could to make the lightning more comfy for longer rides. This one has full luggage too. But I'll have to wait until insurance pays out

Take your time, there are plenty of bikes out there and most importantly; even if you bought a new bike tomorrow don't get back in the saddle till you know your ready.
