Well Brett, Mike and I decided to hit up Palomar today and as the title states I went down. The crazy part is we were not even riding hard when it happened. We had just passed a group of cars and Mike was leading with myself in the middle and Brett was taking up the rear. We entered a 180 degree right hand turn at about 25-30 mph and right at the apex the rear of my bike slid out from under me and I ended up doing about a 280 degree spin on the ground before I came to a stop. I immediately picked up the bike and and hoped on and rode it to the shoulder to survey the damage. Now your probably wondering about the smiling part by now but it will make since in a minute. So I get to the shoulder and to my amazement almost nothing was damaged. I walked away with a broken bar end mirror, a scratched peg, rear brake lever and rear slider and that is it, well that and a little rash in my leathers. The even crazier part is like a minute after I went down a guy on a GSXR went down in the same corner and slid into the guard rail a dam near totaled his bike. After we helped him we found that there was about a 60 foot strip of transmission fluid in the center of the lane. So we sprinkled dirt on the oil and worked it in and then wrote OIL on the road about 100 feet before you enter the turn to warn other riders of the evil corner. Well here is the aftermath.
I am so lucky
And a pic of me telling my bike she is ok and I will fix her as good as new
So I'm thinking about $90 to fix the bike and now you know why I am smiling after a crash.
