so i pulled a dummas, slipped in the wet grass dropped my bike adn broke my brake side foot peg. gonna throw the rear one on in place for now i reckon adn attempt to tig the broke one back together. wish me luck.

Use the rear one off the opposite passenger side and you won't have to worry about it flipping up on you.

I've had mine welded before just because im impatient but they worked just fine. You shouldn't have a problem welding it. [up]

Don't feel bad mate. I was rolling backwards out of garage and hit a rock and over she went, busted left drivers peg. Didn't have rear to swap, bike didn't come with them ;(

dam just realized i never updated. the weld is holding just fine. didnt quite get the angle of the peg totally straight i think cause i works but kinda feels a bit off under the foot. but ill take it and ride on for now. anyone who has to do this repair in the future i suggest a tig welder not a mig.

Im selling a foot peg for 7.50 shipped. Ill let you know if payment falls through.

I'd get a new peg... sometimes you have to stand on your pegs and ride through some rough stuff--I'd hate to have a peg come apart at the most inopportune time. Mr. Murphy being the b*tch that he is, that's probably when it would fail... There are some nice offers above for a good pegs--I'd jump on 'em. ;)

I have had pegs break off when landing a dirt bike and I can tell you it sucks. The boys will hate you for a few days also.

When I was younger, I used to have the left peg bracket for my GPz750 turbo welded every couple of months until I finally bought a new one. It isn't that it will necessarily brake now or in a year--only that it can and it can be catastrophic.

Ever stand on your pegs? Ever jump up on 'em to clear an obstacle or stretch your legs? Even stock, unmolested ones flex a bit. A welded one can snap...

The cast ones are junk. Spend the change and get some.aftermatket ones. Puzzled has some nice ones for a decent price. I put on the LSLs from ASB and am pretty happy with them. Love to have the ones puzzled has though.
