Hello from Greece.I am thinking of buying a 2007 XB9R with 3000miles on it.Is it worth it, or it will be like buying a ducati??The local harley shop is very very expensive and i dont want to get into trouble...Thanks:)

Whats the price? You really dont have to deal with the dealer tooo much if you learn to do your own maintenance

Very simple bike compared to a Ducati. No valve adjustments every 5000 miles. I've owned a Ducati 916 and you will save a lot of money on an XB.

xb bikes are really easy to work on compared to a ducati so my suggestion would be to get the Manuel and do your own maintenance. Also these bikes are really pretty reliable for the most part. As long as you keep up your maintenance which is not hard you can get many many miles out of one of these bike. I have heard of people that are well over 100thousand miles(160,934.4 kilometers since you are in Europe) on the odometer with out having to rebuild there bikes. This is not to say something has not broken on those bikes but for the most part they are holding up good.

And something else.Buell is closed as we all know. What about replacement parts lets say...10 years from now...The most serious part i think...

Well H-D promised to make parts for them for at least the next 7 years. After that there is no definate but I will say this I own a 10 year old buell and I can still get parts for it any day. Either threw h-d or threw aftermarket people.

an XB is just a sportster bottom end with fancy heads and a different primary, parts will be available for ages with a simple pressing of a different bearing race and a spacer on the left-hand of the flywheel.
