I want to buy a black, motorcycle jacket, but I don't know what brands to look at. I want a quality jacket that will last me a long time. My budget is pretty high, but I might be willing to sacrifice quality if the price is very affordable. Also, I'm a slim guy, so I'm looking for a jacket that fits fairly tight.
i am wondering if this brand jacket will be okay? http://supplierwholesaler.com/brand...er-windproof-jacket-for-men-black-p-4128.html
Any suggestions?

^^dainese if your budget permits. They put out a high quality product. The are a euro cut for the most part so slim fit sounds like what would work for you.

I have an ICON jacket which I love, but when I got my Dainese, it was night and day. Quality, feel, details, PROTECTION! They don't cut corners.

Expensive but worth every penny.

Dainese does make some NICE stuff.

Word of advice though: black is definitely the best looking color but it is HOT in the summer. You do plan on wearing protective gear in the summer too, right?

Both of my jackets (one leather one textile) are black and sitting in traffic with the sun beating down on me gets to be quite hot. My next jacket will have some lighter colors at least on the shoulders and upper parts. Live and learn.

REV IT Also makes a quality product. Check into them. Theyve got some high quality jackets with good air flow without compromising protection.

Good luck!

Oh and check the clearance sections on all the sites. That's where the deals are at!

What material are you looking at? - Leather being the safest or Textile or Both: I have a Shift Streetfighter Hybrid I like really well (pic below). But if budget wasn't a matter, I'd sport Dainese.

I wear a Joe Rocket in the summer and a SS in the winter, they are both great jackets and I would recomend them to anyone.

These are not motorcycle jackets! They will hardly do for riding a scooter around town.
Just find a local store selling bikers gear, and go and try some. Depending on the weather conditions where you live, the amount of protection you want, and your budget, they'll help you choose the right one.

Alternatively, look around on websites like RevZilla, SportsBikeTrackGear, Motorcycle-Superstore etc, read about what each jacket offers, and when you get a good idea about what you are looking for, then you can look at their sizing charts and order one for you. Some jackets fit real tight, but leave you feeling really comfortably on moving on the bike, but maybe not off the bike. Baggy isn't good, especially in case of accident. You want the protectors to stay in place, and you don't want the leather to pinch a bit of flesh.

I'll recomend something with CE-approved shoulder and elbow armor, and at least foam back protector, but I'll recomend removing the foam from the back protector pocket and replacing it with something of higher quality (for example my jacket came with Knox foam protector, which is considered one of the best of this kind).

Black is cool, but not reflective if you would like to be seen at night from box drivers. And hot if you live in hot areas. Leather or textile is your choise, as is ventilated with inner liner, or non ventilated jacket for winter use. If you are doing high-speeds, then you'll have air flowing during the summer anyway. I am thinking on buying another jacket for the summer, as mine is black and not quite ventilated, and it gets quite hot here during the summer. But the one I have is perfect for winter-autumn-spring.

This thought crossed my mind, seing the one post count etc, but then again I thought I'll just write down my advice haha

haha octo. Hilarious. Goes to show nobody clicked on his link though... my hover tells me it is just a winter coat.

Dainese new delmar the best...now that's winters here start looking on every forum there is, thats what i did still could not find one, used about 500.00 i paid 850.00 new, my wife had a problem with that until i told her its cheaper than skin graph,,,,BUY IT ON-LINE NO TAX...The people at the chicago D-store think their S--t dont stink and are rude they had a 20%off

Best jacket I owned was a Levi denim that I got at Sears. Liked it so much that I bought a second cut te sleeves off and sewed my club's patches on to wear over my leathers. :D

I suggest you get out and try some on. I too am very slim and not all jackets are gonna snug up and fit like you want. I settled with no regrets on a scorpion from sportbiketrackgear.com
Best of luck btw [up]
