I commuted to work in 100+ temps.
32 miles roundtrip.

4:30am 80 degrees = awesome ride

1:30pm 100 degrees = not awesome ride.

Looks like another Summer heatwave for us OKies. Good thing I am a skinny fellow. :D

Amazing to me that you got that off so clean squidbuellie. Nice!

I installed a K&N air filter, and I think it's a little better. But when it's already incredibly awesome it's hard to judge. :)

rode her a whopping 35 miles!
too hot to ride for the next day or two, i want my 70-80 degree days back, more than 90 and im not gonna ride for my sake and Lizzy's

Took her into the shop to wrap the header, and when I got done had a broken fuel supply fitting......no riding for me unless I can get this fitting welded.

I like the black wrap it somehow matches the frame instead of being black. :D

No chin fairing until I change the oil.

Had some bad cupping on the front tire so i installed a new 120/60zr/17 pilotroad 2ct and new rear ebc HH pads then the scarey **** happened started the bike and took off down the drive after 44yrs. on a bike and doing all my own wrenching i should have known better got to the end of the drive looked for traffic there was a car coming down the road so i hit the brakes and there was none i had a split second to put it sideways into the ditch. the bike and i are ok. Lesson here PUMP brakes back up before riding bike. I feel so stupid and so lucky.

Wow, sorry to hear about your misfortune, redrider. :( It will remind me to thoroughly double check and test ride all of my work. I also did some brake work today.

This morning, I put new Lyndall Gold front brake pads on the Firebolt and a new Barnett braided stainless clutch cable on the S3.

The old clutch cable had a crack in the housing and was stretched so far that I was almost out of adjustment, so I figured it was time. The Barnett cable is a good looking piece and requires no lube.

I gave the 05 a bath and then rode her a hundred miles in 100 degree heat brought her home and wiped her down. I love my Buells!

Do you have a link to ordering info on the stainless steel clutch cable but for the Firebolt? Thanks!

Well, I got the cable through ASB, but they don't list one like it for the XB. I'll bet if you emailed them, they could steer you in the right direction. It is a nice part.

Today @ 7600 miles I changed the engine oil to Mobil 1 w/ K&N filter, and the primary got a quart of Amsoil...all fully synthetic.
Put the chin fairing back on.:)
