What does the Race ECM look like?

Well I Just purchased an 03 XB9s and from what I was told came with the factory race muffler from the dealer. Now the previous owner wasn't sure if it has the Race ECM installed or not but does know it came like that from the dealer. I read up on Race ECMs and have noticed that on the ECM itself is written "For Race Use Only" I checked my bike and it does not have this writing on the ECM. Is this the only indicator that it is a Race ECM or is there something else... and another thing if it does not have the Race ECM can the dealer just re-map the stock one? (the bike runs great just wondering what the bike actually has)

Lefox said some time ago that not all Race ECM's have "For Race Use Only" labeling, but most do. If you just have the stock ECM, I'd have Mike @ Xoptiinside.com do it. He can load/reflash your ECM, either "turning it" into a Race ECM or, better yet, creating you a custom map that better suits your bike. And it'll be cheaper than the dealership also. [up]

Edit: Do you a high flow air filter installed? Also, there's always the DIY ECMSpy route.

32814-02YA should be the one for your bike if i'm not mistaking.

thanks LeFox it looks like I may have a standard ECM the number on the face of the ECM reads - 32801-02Y 02224

Towards the bottom of this thread: What's a Race ECM look like?; Firewhirl says:

"My race ECM also does not say Race Only.

Maybe BPG will post up to confirm or you might call a dealership.
