So, I've had my XB12R for sometime now, but I have never adjusted my suspension until just last night. I adjusted it in accordance to the manual for quick steering since I like most are all about the curves and corners. When I adjusted it, for the first time ever, I realized just how far off it has been set for my riding weight.
My question is, do you remember when you did yours for the first time and how much of a road gripping difference did you feel? Are there any tips you might have to dialing it in just ride?

There is a thread on here somewhere I seem to remember it being called suspension settings or something, it has settings from the guy who used to race buells. I set mine to those and it was like a whole new bike. Remember to adjust the front forks and the rear compression.

Now you will see how well these bikes corner.

edit: Heres the thread. Much better than manual settings.

Thaloc, thanks for that info...thats great reading. I see that in the thread people were concerned about it working for the XBR's. I see you have an XBR, do you set your bike to the same actual settings given? Or have you compensated a little due to the bike diff? If so, how much? I also ride an XB12R. So Im curious as to the diff. in changes I should make between the two bikes if any.

Thanks a million...Im super excited to try it out. I might just have to invest in some pucks...:)

Yeah, Its funny because for the longest time. I never really gave my suspension that much thought. I figured I wasnt committing to the corners hard enough..but when I pushed it, it would get squirly on me sometimes. My setting from the Buell dealer were all out of wack. I set it to the book lastnight and figured that out. I would get maybe a foot from my knee at best... but from what it sounds now that wouldnt be a problem. I've been riding mostly dirtbikes my whole life and street for about 15 years, but never messed with the suspension until now. I have a feeling I've been missing out for a long time.

WOW!! I think I know what you mean. I did my adjustments to the specs on that site, and I think I'll stay with a softer, slower steering for now. That was crazy, the steering was so fast that the bike just wants to get you down to ride tight corners. Since its winter out still and cold as hell my guess is it would be a bad idea to keep it like that rightnow. The setting basically gave me a totally different bike all together...I had no idea it could be that aggressive, Im really looking forward to warmer weather when the road (asphalt) is about 80 degrees or so.
All I can say is "INSANE".

damn, reading all your posts got me all excited. im already craving the two wheels and now after reading this, i cant wait to try this new setting. winter sucks!!! right now i just got the factory setting on my 12r, and with my riding it sounds like i need this suspension adjustment..thanks for the info.
