Hey guys, I found a 2004 XB12s for sale and am very interested in buying it... (I had planned to buy new in the spring but now I'm starting to reconsider)
I know the '04 is the first year for the 12s which kind of scares me. Is there anything specifically I should be looking for. Some type of defect specific to its year? The bike is completely stock and has 3200kms and the seller is the original owner. The bike is roughly 4hrs away so I want to be as prepared as possible when I make the trip. Any tips would be appreciated!

Whats he asking for it? Look for the normal stuff. Scratches, dings, leaks, parts with non-matching numbers and a clean title.

It wasn't the horn but rather the horn wire. It was rubbing on the nut and bolt that the horn is attached to causing a short. Which would kill ignition fuse. The sidestand is not a recall but it was a problem. You'd be best to update it to 06-09 sidestand.... $65.00 about.

Thanks for the info... but the seller decided to now not sell the bike... Ugh... hopes were up thats for sure.... oh well let the hunt continue.

Im in windsor, ontario.. and im not too interested in a SS model.. look great but it just doesn't fit me. thanks for the offer.

Yeah actually this past fall... they had one at ThunderRoad HD in windsor... around the same time as the demo ride... i only sat on the SS but was able to ride the Scg. I found the Scg a better fit for me ... hey if you don't sell your SS by the summer we should meet up...
