Considering scooping a used one up. Anything in particular to look for? It has 30,000 miles. Thanks.

In addition to the generic points on any bike, pay particular attention to:
- hydraulic clutch slave cylinder leak
- clicking front end
I found these 2 issues on just about all of the 1125s I looked at.

Clicking front end? Bad bearings?
I would think the front brakes would be clicking from a warped rotor.
You know, I tried to isolate it myself by looking at both the bearings & brake, but it seemed more like it was coming from inside the fork leg(s). Some sort of noisy valving(?). I found it pretty consistently in all the used 1125s I looked at.

Well there is absolutely nothing wrong with my 9. But I would have to sell it first. It has high miles but is very strong. Just want something more powerful. But would hate to give up a very reliable good mpg bike for something less reliable. I guess you sacrifice for more performance.

I'd recommend finding a 08 model so you don't have to mess with expensive electrical problems. The clutch weep its a easy $100 fix on the 08s. And if you do the proper maintenance it will be reliable.

Yes, that's a good point. Some years were supposedly prone to some sort of erratic signal light operation, though I've never encountered it myself. You might want to research that further...

Yes, I came to the same conclusion when I first began shopping for a Buell several years ago. I innitially focussed exclusively on the 1125, but after seeing the same issues over & over, I switched focus to the XB for its more 'tried & true' design advantage.

The 1125 is a nice bike to be sure, but I don't regret my decision either.:D

i went to meet the guy and he called. Said it has sat for 2 months and clutch fluid was all over the garage floor and wont be able to meet me. I guess thats the clutch weep?

Yep but don't be afraid if its a 08 its a cheap easy fix. (its just as cheap and easy on other years) but but the electrical issues could set you back on other years

All over the floor? It should only weep while you are actuating the slave. It seems to me from the way these are put together that the only way that would happen would be if there was nothing there sealing anything at all. As in he tried to fix it and royally screwed the pooch. This only my opinion, take it as seriously as you choose.

It is an easy fix though, just need a special tool or some channel locks and a set of hex and socket wrenches.
