what to look for..

Tomorrow I am possibly trading my 4 Wheeler for a 05 xb9r.. the bike is yellow with the white wheels... besides performance and ridability, what else do I need to look for.. I'm not a fire bolt guy.. I have a 12s

Aldo I like the black, blue, or white firebolts more than the yellow... would be willing to trade if someone wants yellow.. I was told the plastics were is great shape other than one little scuff from boot clip.. from the pic I seen its not bad at all. Thanks guys

There is not much difference between the R and S other than the handlebars and flyscreen/fairing.

The 9 will have a higher RPM at highway speeds that you will probably notice right off.

If you have stands take them with you and put the bike on them and check for wheel and steering head bearing play.

Inquire how old the battery is too.

Hi badtitan! Check for any seepage around the base gaskets of the jugs...any other oil leaks,etc. Also, the obvious...condition of belt, is the oil black?, etc. None of these should be 'deal-breakers', but may give you some negotiating power.

Well I ended up getting it.. first off I noticed while the bike was on the kickstands it was leaning way over.. it was bent. Tried bending back.. dug further and notice the seal where the rocker cover hose comes out wasn't all the way in which caused a little mess on rear cover.. no other leaks.. the bike fires right up.. a little cutlass compared to my 12s but ill fix that soon... throttle cable is frayed.. the front shocks are weird.. I was holding the front brake and pushing to compress them and they worked fine for a few pushes.. then they locked.. I set the bike back down to try again and now they are fine again.. the bike is sound. But needs alot of care to make it mine... thanks guys
