Riding season is coming to a close and after getting the 9S running pretty decent I figure its time to do some pretty serious off season maintenance. What will you do?

I've only got one cosmetic mod to do, that will be powder coating both rims. New bearings will go in of course.

I think I'll dive into the engine a little. I'm really annoyed by the amount of valve and lifter noise that I have. I don't want to hear all that, just want to hear the twin rumble!

So how about some suggestions? Routine oil and filter of course, but what are you going to do about serious wrenching this winter? What are you looking forward to? What are you dreading?

What will you do?
What will I do? Ride like I do every winter, of course! It was a refreshing -5C (20F) this morning during the ride into work :D

I'm planning to rotate my motor to replace my headers, Tires, Brake Pads, and the normal stuff such as oil!

What will I do this winter? Hmmm...

I have a line on a old BMW K100 in really good shape ( '85 with 6k) for cheap. Was just about bought but dude "couldnt find title". Had some ideas flowing.... if he finds the title... that's what I'll be doing this winter.

Plan on taking the engine out to rebuild/freshen up the parts and replace what is needed

Masterbate, eat, sleep, and dream about the Buell. "Not necessarily in that order"! You know sticky hands and all!

I did my major rebuild this summer...out of necessity unfortunately, but winters in Vegas are pretty mild. I'll get to ride for the most of it!! :D

really? and your course of action/remedy for perceived valve train noise will be?
these stock motors were highly refined, test to the 9th and received tons of input from very talented drive-line engineers. curious what a novice has in store particularly regarding engine accoustics.

Lol...yeah they are loud!! Although, I did put a new cam cover, redshift 567 cams, lifters, pushrods in mine and its much quieter. Granted, my #2 cam bushing in my gear cover was worn out of tolerance...I can still hear that valve train noise, it means the motor is working...music to my ears!!

This winter I will be looking for a trade or outright sell the 1125r. Then maybe add some bolt-on's to the new used jap bike I find.

Just a new front Michelin. Have 2ct now and rear still good but may get another model from Michelin? Pilot Road 4 looks to be a nice choice. Like the look.
