I'm just curious, if you saw my bike with a "For Sale" sign on it, what would you think would be reasonable? Keep in mind, it has been laid down, but has a clean title.

It has custom paint, Drummer Exhaust, Xopti Tune, breather re-route, custom tail, about 15k miles.

I'm getting the itch to find something different...

KBB is $5300.
NADA puts low retail at $3,920, Averate $5,200.

the down side is if none of the mods appeal to the customer you wont get anything for them.

I for instance am not into the drummer the red or the header wrap but that's just personal opinion.

I would also wonder what maintenence has been done in the past.

last fork rebuild

if you have record of regular oil changes and if you use dino or synthetic

just the big important things

and its an '06 right?

depending on year... anywhere from $3500-$4500 once closer inspected. any visual damage?

Whatever you get I am sure you will be disappointed, they never sell for what you want or have into them.

Only up side is there aren't a ton for sale, but the down side is people also look as though the bike has no support anymore [smirk]

I currently have a uly listed for sale at 5k. It's clean with 9k miles. No aftermarket additions.

I've had pretty good luck selling used buells. I've had a lot of interestin the uly and have sold 2 CRs in the past two months.

If you have a clean title, KEEP IT!!! everyone I have talked to, read on msg boards, etc. regret getting rid of there Buells. KEEP IT and buy your self the other ride you have been wanting. this is my current stable. soon to add a BMW GS

I second that. Thats a pretty sweet uly. I would deffinetly sport it as a second bike [up][up][up]

Plus Buells are going up in value. Keep another few years I bet I will go up for sure [smirk]

throw some itching powder on that itch. then go pick up another bike if you can. because you know you will sell it at a loss and that will not make you happy. unless you payed $4500 for it with all of that stuff on it already and rode it for the last 2 years

Buellysses,
I'm a fan of your bike. If I was still in the market (you missed me by a couple months) I'd have offered you $4K, and would have been ok with $4500 if it came to that.

This being said, I'd vote for you to keep it as well. I know it's really not my life or my business to dictate yours, but I feel like you'll miss this bike too much when it's gone.

I see more people selling redundant motorcycles because they ride their Buell nearly exclusively than the other way around.

If you have the means to do so, please chase that itch and procure the "other" bike. Then take the time to evaluate the situation again. You can then base your decision on a more complete set of facts/experiences.

Your mileage may vary.

My problem is that I don't want another payment. I only owe 3k on the bike, and I really want a CR. I bought the Uly because I thought I'd be doing more touring, but I really haven't had the opportunity.

I really do love the bike, a lot, but if I were to have multiple bikes I would go with a
cruiser and a true sport bike. There are 2 groups of people I ride with, one group is always Harleys, the other group is always metrics. It sucks because I can't keep up with the metrics and the cruisers can't keep up with me.

It is kind of amusing though, one of the metrics I ride with is a new rider. He's got a fairly new R6. Obviously he could eat my lunch in the straights but he's not nearly confident enough. =) I shouldn't even mention what happens when we get to some curvy roads.

I would also wonder what maintenence has been done in the past.

I keep up on the normal maintenance, synthetic oil (amsoil). Tires were both new last year under 1k miles (pirelli scorpion sync), have not done a fork rebuild and the belt is original.
