So going off production numbers it looks like 09 had the highest....but what year of cr or r should i be looking for with the fewest issues

08 had less issues with the charging system. All years had clutch weep issues. 09-10 Charging issues are not hard to fix but can be somewhat costly if you do the stator and rectifier at the same time as the rotor.
Myself I have a 09 had clutch weep so upgraded to the EBR clutch, and I did the rotor upgrade just as preventative maintenance but im still rockin the original stator and rectifier with no issues.

Oh and you might as well figure in the cost of a ECM and Deans exhaust cause the stocker is way too quiet.

I also have the crank tool to loan out free of charge to anyone on this forum that needs to borrow it.

Buell did have a warranty (recall?) fix for the clutch weep. If you call HD with the VIN, you can find out the bikes service history and it will say whether the clutch weep problem was fixed.

08's had lower output charging systems so are prone to weakening batteries if you get stuck in alot of traffic or otherwise ride slow.

The Buell/HD "fix" for the overheating stators in the 09-10 bikes is not a fix by any means. Unless the owner replaced the rotor with the EBR oiling rotor, plan on replacing it yourself. You may also need to replace the stator depending on mileage/condition. See Cosworth's post.

The 08 and early 09 fuel maps were a little wonky so throttle response was a little strange, but later bikes supposedly had this fixed.

Just ask the questions addressed above. It didnt get 18k miles from being broken down and not ridden!

I drove 16hrs round trip to get my 1125CR ;)

No offense, but all 1125's will have issues, just do your homework and make sure if seller claims they replaced something have them prove it. Ive changed the rotor, stator and have taken care of the clutch weep myself on my bike. Other than that, my 09 cr preforms flawless, way better than my 04 xb!

Thanks for the advise....they are great machines and would almost be disappointed if i didn't have something too wrench on. :)

All make and models have issues. My 04 zx10r's charging system went off like a grenade two nights ago. The bushings come to find out needed to be silver plated . They had a service bulletin on replacing them with the revised ones. I missed the message.
Buell charging systems are cheap compared to this dude. Luckily there are plenty of parts out there to fix the ninja. Oh, and if they have been laid down the frame is probably cracked on the underside welds.
The buell on the other hand was a very solid piece of equipment. You offer that guy 3,900 cash. He says no, you offer 4,300. He says no, 4,500. Tires, breaks, fluid flush, plus he most likely hasn't had very many offers. He will accept yours.
A lot of us drive very far to get the machines we want. Join the dark side.

Yes my Lord....I can turn very easy....now for a jedi mind trick on the wife as to why i need another Buell in the garage...:p

Damn...go get it. I live in Pa. 8 miles from nj....I drove to Michigan-twice to pick up a bike....28 hours non stop there n back. Never regretted a second of it
