What's next for the 2010 Bolt? the 09's have a stronger belt, 8 piston brake caliper, stronger oil pump and some other little things, but what could you possibly improve on? The styling is classic and I love it the way it looks, but sometime sooner or later they will change the overall looks of the bike. Or will they keep it the way it is?

The last time I talked to Erik, he said they were planning on keeping the firebolt until 2018. He says 15 years is a good run of production.

It'd be pretty hard to improve on. Think about the trilogy of tech and how long it took him to get here. When they do change though I'm sure it will be even better, if you can imagine that.

Did i get the only bad one?

Maybe he'll add another tech bubble. Make it the square of technology. or quilogy. On board coffee maker, or bikini babe with every one....

How about aluminum flywheels, XB9 sprocket/gear ratio, and a 6-speed trans. This would yield a much better performer with the reduced rotating mass accompanied with the lower ratio. But in reality I think the XB's might be going by-by once the 1125's get sorted out due to emissions of the air-cooled engines.

I don't the Helicon is just not as sexy as the 45 growl, plus you are running with the electronic sound of the Ducs and Aprilias, grunty bumble bees with out that clutch rattle, i do not think and, i surely hope they do not do away with the XBs.

if they do anything i think they sould inlarge the headlights and add a 6 speed tranny. .othere then that hard to improve perfection

+1 on the 6 speed tranny... though I'm probably one that'll go 1125 when finances will permit.. I love my XB.. but in Texas.. I really do need a cooler running bike. I just don't like that huge fairing. I know it's more airodynamic.. but it's huge! I'm thinking I may go to the CR... up close that is one sweet looking ride.. ok.. enough about the new ones..
here's what I'd do with the 'bolt...
6 speed tranny.
LED turn signals all the way around
Integrated rear signals (not all in one... but an a arrow feather style like this.. but not as bulky.

and "freshen up" the fairing/headlight styling. I like the projector beam lights.. but it's time for a bit of new style for the bolt.
