i want to get a alarm for my bike with remote start and security features whats the best you can get for the money and what the best out there .. i havent seen many peaple talkin about alarms for there firebolt or buells ,, i keep my bike in the garage at all times except when i ride it, i like the led pager style remotes i have one on my car and i was looking into spy brand

I cant speak from experience but I am going to opt for one of these for each of my bikes. XX# (the # references to the disc pin size) $87 @ Motorcycle Accessory Warehouse
Figure it is small so it will not be to noticeable, also the most important part with not being noticed the alarm will sound if someone tries to take your bike, or if you forget to remove it yourself.

Why scorpio? I was thinking them when i got my next bike since mine was stolen :\

I want something that if my bike is touched anywhere basically, it goes off and alerts me.

Sorry this is just a copy paste of what I wrote in another thread but it is long and I'm to lazy to type it all out on my phone :p

my scoripo was faulty out of the box, the alarm would go off for no reason and the key fob would stop working so without the key fob or RFID working I couldn't shut it off.

not a big deal that is was faulty IMO, it happens sometimes.
(but this one was scratched all up in the sealed plastic like somebody used a screwdriver to remove the connectors I think it was a "refurb" but they insist that they don't do that, BS IMO)

they had a good track record and many people swear by them.

but what killed be was that scorpio customer service sucked!

it took nearly 3 months to get my alarm back and it was still broken. I sent it back asking for a new one, they said that a new one would be right out, a month later nothing, I call up and they are STILL trouble shooting my old one.
I call again a few week later and its still on the test bench, this time I am getting a bit upset I bought my alarm to have it on my bike and the end of the Michigan season is approaching and I have been without my alarm for the whole thing (I bought it and installed before the season started)
so I call and ask for a manager this time and tell him what is going on, he tells me he will look into it and call me back.
a day later he calls me back and apologizes, he sends out a NEW alarm the same day plus a free engine immobilizer (with no harness and no real instructions to speak of) and at first I am thinking I will FINALLY have a working alarm on my bike.

NOPE, the problem is still there, turns out they only replaced the main unit, I am having the same problem. I call up AGAIN and tell them, the guy tells me yet again that this is imposable and it must be installed wrong, I tell him it must be the plug in units failing.
after sending pictures of my install and a wiring diagram they agree my install is fine and send me replacement proxy and RFID units.

but I never installed it, I sold it to a friend because scorpio would not refund me because I didn't buy DIRECTLY from them (bought it from a HD dealer because parts unlimited is a distributor and I had a 20% off coupon)  I told my friend all the issues I had with it and sold it at a loss even with the 20% off I got. plus my nearly 6 months of frustration and still no alarm, what a waist of time and money

my friend never plugged in the proxy and seems to like it but he still has intermittent issues of it going off.

moral of the story?
be wary of scorpio

Hey xtreme, have that same Xena lock for mine and is a great deterrant, however one little issue (if you'd call it that) and that's if you put your hand directly over the lock when it goes off you can pretty much muffle the sound quite well, tho you can't do anything while your muffling it and will only go off again as soon as you let it go without unlocking it...so not sure if that's a down side or not but works for me, mine went off just the other night and probably took me 10 - 15 seconds from the first beep to get downstairs wif me bat and not a soul to be seen, so worth it to me (could of been a cat or dog bump it ??? idk)

Buellgasm. Is there a way to mount the Xema that would mKe it harder to just cover it up. Per say turning it, mounting in the back, or on the top back side of the front rotor?

Put one on each rotor...thief would have both hands full muting them and couldn't steal your bike!:D

I don't trust alarms or locks. Here, at the local university a few years back, some crew went by with a box van and removed every illegally parked bike. Yep, not the university parking people. I don't know how many bikes were stolen that day. So, two or three people can move a locked bike…

Alarms go off all day, does anybody look anymore? I don't…

But, you asked, get a kid or a pet monitor. One advantage to a Buell is the transparent air box: mount it in there. Program it to text you when it moves more that 10', that's when the gps can detect it. Program it to text you every 15 secs after that (you can then direct that location to the police). Cost is about $100 and a $15/month phone charge.

Ya it thought about doing that Lamarchangel. But that adds up after a while.

Nikko - Did you get yours in? Post some pics, I'd like to see how it looks on our rotors before I get one![up]

alarm systems with led remote pager is what this was about idont know if i like wheel loks

yes there available u have to leave ur bike in nuetral for the remote start to work its hoooked up so that it can only work while the bike is not in gear

buellgasm or xtreme ,
where do you store the bike rotor lock when you are on your bike riding it.
I have a 2005 xb12r firebolt. my under passenger seat(Storage area) has very little room left . i have my tool kit, plus pliers wrapped in a red shop rag, and a doubled up (2) zip lock baggies taped up shut so it doesnt unfold to keep it tight to hold my registration papers.

larmar great ideal but the 15/monthly kinda adds up,(but better than never getting your back back) what does low jack cost initially and monthly. but either you is already gone , u gotta find it with the police.

I would like to have something that shocks you , and increases in intensity everytime you touch it. but that would possible be illegal in most places, i think that would be a good deterant, or something had a very very loud high pitched ear piercing sound , like the weapon they showed on future weapons i know keep dreaming but damn , it sucks having to worry about some ass stealing your property that have put your heart soul tons of hard work and tons of money in . and the poliice really dont care and then insurance goes up it will end up costing you more than the bike if its stolen, sooner or later. ( just like some of systems they sell for cars in foreign countries that has been outlawed for use here, .)
