i have duralast in my xb12r now its spoiled and i need a new one i want the best or something really good i see all these diff tyhpes and dont know wich to buy they are all under 100$$ ne one have advice

yuasa is good, im on my second harley batt. id do a battery tender for longer life batteries

i hate battery tender idea if i have to i will but whats a battery that doesnt need that just top of the line ? like optima for cars

Do you ride a lot? If if has to sit for weeks on end you should use a tender no matter what battery you have. The factory HD batt is most likely a yuasa and mine would start right up after 3/4/5 weeks idle.

well i ride everyday i can but i leave the bike sittin for months at times i do work over seas and travel alot what if when i leave country i disconnect the battery possitive and negative?

so yuasa is best what ab out trugell and drag and yuasa which is best
or what is best for money

Just out of curiosity, anyone ever ran the "Everstart" crap from Wal*Mart?

I was in a bind (battery took a crap on a Sunday) and threw one in. It was only $50. I guess we will see how it holds up.

yea i wouldnt mind going with a 50 $ battery if it is good i dont like cheap but if it is quality then its ok to me ,,,, what a good battery tender thats good price any suggestions

I just put a shorai ion battery in my bike..expencive but awsome. more starting power, last long if the light are left on but the best part is its as light as the box it came in.
It doesnt need a trickle charger but I have one installed in all my bikes, cars and pwc anyway.
its worth the money for the chargers if I never need to replace a battery or hear a clicking noise when I go to start it after it sits.

I use the cheap ones at the dollar store they last a good amount if time, and hey they are only a dollar and you get a good amount of them.

After 4 years, I'm still running the original HD battery that came with my bike. I've had to throw it on the tender a few times after letting the bike sit for a month or two but otherwise it will sit for a few weeks and start right up.

If your battery lays on its side on the bike be sure to get a factory sealed battery or it will possibly leak all over the place.
If you are gonna leave bike parked for a long period of time then take the battery off the bike and bring and store inside somehwere that is warmer temps.
If you have no other option then buy a tender. Some folks wear by them.
I do not use a tender and have no need to. I do replace my battery every three years. I'd rather know the battery was good than wait on it to die.

I have an Odyssey in my KLR650, simply because if a battery craps out on that bike I'm usually miles from noplace.... I don't run a tender on it and its been on the bike for over 5 years.... I don't know if they make one that'll fit the Buell, but if they do, that's what I'll use when the HD battery in my XB9SX gives up...I do use a battery tender on that one.

The Odyssey is an Optima-type gel and sits in the KLR completely on its side.

I run Interstate blems in all my vehicles. Call or go to the Interstate distributor and ask for a blem to fit your bike. Note: this is a hit-or-miss option but the batteries are brand new, and will replace it if it fails within first 12 months.

edit: I mean that it's hit-or-miss that they'll have a blem to fit your bike

Yep, threw one in my FZR400 when my old battery took a dump. I did a race weekend or track day on it. When I tried to start it when i got home from the track, it wouldn't start. Pulled the seat off and four or five of the six caps had the centers blown out.

I replaced it with a parts unlimited battery (which was cheaper) and I sold it in the bike two years later without any further battery problems.

My Buell has a Harley battery, my Triumph, SRfiddy and SV all have Yuasa's. That's the battery that was in each bike when I bought it. Both brands are excellent quality. I also batterytender all of them.
