I routed the wire loom wrong and got a ground short on the ignition circuit. I was 1.9 miles from home (good thing it happened that close on the way back), I pushed it. How far have you guys ever pushed a bike to save a buck on a tow?

Not more than 20 feet... Out of the garage to the street. I didn't want to start it up (D&D) at 3am (I start my work at 4am on some days) in the alley and have my neighbors pissed.

ran out of gas before and push my bike 1/2mi, otherwise nothing more.

Did a car/bike tow when I had a main power fuse blow a few years ago, I used my right elbow and used the front driver side window on my buddies Caprice to pull/tow myself 7mi home. Had a belt snap a year later and tried it with Buellchick for the 1/2mi I was from home and ended up with two tickets from a cop.

Now if something happens I use my cell phone to get my truck to me and just load it up that way. Easier safer, and cheaper with no tickets[smirk]

I snapped a throttle cable on my warrior a few years back, I was able to idle it so little pushing but I ended up with blisters from the exhaust after the 3 mile push

Not my Buell, but when I was a kid, my dad bought me a 1975 Honda Z50 minitrail. I was about 200yds off the road in some thick woods, and it quit on me. The 200yds wasnt a big deal, it was the 5mile long farm road that was a bitch. I was in 2nd grade...LOL

I pushed my turbo busa a block once because of a broken rear sprocket. Scared the hell out of me.

3.5 miles. I snapped a belt not too far from my house. Decided just to push it home rather than get a truck. I was actually surprised at how well it rolled. The only thing that constantly kicked my ass was the foot peg hitting my leg and trying to balance my helmet on the air box as I pushed.

few years back I ended locking my key under my seat, was going to rip my seat off but my bud made a very good point that if I broke it I would regret it....
so he went to retrieve my spare key back in town (we were cliff jumping @ the river)

being that I am not one to sit around I decided to start pushing my Yamaha R1 towards town....(it became a challenge for me)

my bud rides like he is driving miss daisy...

so I ended up pushing my bike 7.5kms (almost back into town) and sure enough my bud comes puttering down the street shocked that I had made it that far...

lesson learned, know where your key is at all times!
;)

Just a couple hundred feet up a hill to bump start it after sitting all winter. I jumped it off my dads car 5 minutes earlier and dummy me turned it off at the gas station thinking it was charged enough to restart.. Rolled halfway down the hill, threw it into second, let the clutch out and hit the start button and it started right up. What a relief that was!

bout 1/4 mile uphill on a sidewalk; back when my regulator crapped out on me

and when i joined the forum :p

Uphill three different times to try and popstart it (can this even be done? as I have heard debate #04 Firebolt#) about a couple hundred ffeet each time. Exhausted and trying to figure it out, I commenced to taking the seat off only to find a loose connection! So goes my lesson of checking before assumption!

Can pop start something that's fuel injected unless theirs enough power to turn the fuel pump on and to get the injectors to purge

When I was a kid I used to push my bike 5 miles in the snow(barefooted)just to get to school..... Oh wait wrong story

I haven't pushed a street bike yet (knock on wood) But i have pushed numerous dirtbikes. Once for a broken chain, Once for a blown top end, and the worst was when we had to push my cousins bike 2 miles through the woods when something with the motor broke and because of this everything was locked up and we couldn't even get the clutch to disengage so the tire wouldnt spin. It was an early 1990's dr250 and at the age of 15 that sucker was heavy! During the steel frame dual sport era.

my first bike about 6 miles after electrical shorted, 2nd bike (blast), didn't know it had a reserve and I pushed it 5
xb12r about a mile and a half when my engine started acting up

I have pushed way to many dirt bikes in my 17yr racing experiance to even want to know. If I guessed I would say I covered about 20 miles during that time and it was over drit, rocks, mud, rain, uphill, through creeks, swamps......the list could go on and on, but im sure I may crash a server before Im finished with the offroad side of things.

My Bolt.....I have never had to push.

The only thing that constantly kicked my ass was the foot peg hitting my leg and trying to balance my helmet on the air box as I pushed.

Yeah, I had a nice sized bruise on my right calf from the foot peg. The helmet I just hung by the strap off the right foot peg and I had no problems.

pushed my buddies zx-11 about 1/4 mile after the oil light came on from a fresh rebuild.

BUT i did ride my lightning about 5 miles with a flat rear.. haha. My 175 lbs isn't enough to compress the tire, so i just puttered home in 1st gear. Does that count for anything?

My first bike was a 1972 Kawaski E100.
I think i pushed it more than road it.
Bike broke non stop and the POS bike shop just kept taking my money turns out they where hacks maybe why i do all my own work now.........[confused]
