Hi everybody!
I bought this 07 XB12R Firebolt last summer and was doing some spring inspection on it. When I removed the air cover I found both the cable and electrical connection detached over the air intake. I can see how to reattach the cable and reconnect the electrical, but what is this thing doing? I've got a photo and can't figure out how to attach it.

There is almost no tension in the cable, so I wonder if something was broken and intentionally left off. It ran fine all of last summer and fall.

Any ideas?
Thanks!!

That's your exhaust servo. It's purpose is to open up your muffler more as you throttle up. If you don't have a factory exhaust chances are it was disconnected on purpose. If it's running fine and you have no engine light than you should be fine unless you want to do clean up and make it look nice.

If your support performance oriented you can take it out thing weighs like a pound!

It has a Micron exhaust, so glad to hear it's been disconnected on purpose. No engine light and bike is running fine, so I'll just leave it disconnected.

Thanks guys!!
