I've seen a bunch of threads about the HF puller and such, some seem to work others don't, or they only work for the front or rear, etc.

Can someone help me figure out what tool I need that will fit/work for both wheels, or what two tools I need? I don't know if autozone sells them but would prefer to buy there as I have a credit and money's tight.

Any info appreciated, thanks.

Blind Bearing Puller, I bought the HF, it worked good, but it is kinda half size off, you have to spread the closest fitting jaws a little too far on the rears, and then it wont close up enough to fit the fronts, most of the parts houses will rent you one free

Ok thanks. I have a bearing puller that I used on the pilot bushing for the clutch on my s10, I wonder if that'd work. Will have to measure the bearing to find out. And I guess rent or buy a slide hammer.

I used a 28mm 1/2" socket and an extension to remove my front wheel bearings. Tried using a slide hammer but it wouldn't fit. I used the old bearing on top of the new one to press it in. worked great for me.

Yeh, the bushing puller is the same thing just have to get the right size mandrel, not sure if that is what it is called, but the thing that attaches to the slide

I use a long flat head screwdriver to catch the inside lip of the bearing and then smack it with a big rubber mallet. Then flip it over and do the other side.

sean: all good tips and try this keeping in mind it doesn't matter if you bitch up the old bearings as you're trashing them anyway: a long punch and hammer. go thru one side and engage opposite side bearing as close to hub lip as you can. punch it and they pop out. flip wheel and do other side. clean up hub face area where the new bearings fit into, put new bearings in your freezer overnite and leave them there. when you're ready to do the install take a heat gun and heat up the hub area, get bearings out of freezer and they drop right in with a slight tap. work quickly when you do it.

Awesome! Glad I asked. I want to get my wheels powder coated soon so I can do the bearings and tires, haven't been on the bike in a long time, getting itchy...

I've got this to install my All Balls Racing bearings:D need a phenolic or brass drift to remove 'em, though
