So my uly's pads are getting down to the end of their life and i was wondering (may be a dumb question) how often do the rotors really need replaced on these bikes??? Mine seems to run true with no warping or grooves. And if i dont need to replace it, should i give it a fine (ish) sanding like 320grit to ruff it up to help the pads seat or just pop in new pads and call it good??? On my cars i just throw new rotors on when i do brakes since there so cheap so ive never worried about any of this.

i've seen 3 XB's now with over 60K miles on them and rotors not warped and still within thickness spec. if yours are still running true and straight betting they're fine. never a bad idea to replace the rotor hardware pieces which are the flat shim and the oblong spacer. bolts never wear out. yes on the 320 grit paper.....or glass bead the rotor. that also works nicely.

Pads were easier to change than i expected!! Put the EBC HH pads in and gave the rotors a quick sanding. Dunno how well they work yet since its raining and windy and overall S#&T*Y! Sure they'll be fine.

thanks for the great link! I was going to do my normal car bedding in sequence just as a precaution. I'll follow the EBC procedure. I always run the Super Heavy Duty Motorcraft pads and rotors that come on most interceptors on my cars/truck, they require getting pretty hot to bed in well.

How will these feel compared to my originals (if properly bedded) do you think?
