Where do you draw the line?

Personally I don't ride if there is a large percent change of heavy rain, light scattered showers don't bother me. I also don't ride in any temps or conditions that allow icy roads.

Out of necessity I have ridden in all kinds of weather after my truck had been stolen several years ago.

On my firebolt, 45°. On my wheeler, -20°. As for the high end of the temp. I don't know. I have rode in 110° weather before. It sucked but it was for a good cause. I wont ride in the rain if I can help it.

Freezing temps or below, high winds (30+mph) or high chance of rain, I'll ride home in the rain every time if I'm out, never got a ride or anything. I will however change my route if it comes down good, I look for slower speeds/less traffic/less turns.

If it's going to rain its butt off or snow then that is where I draw the line when it comes to weather. With the right kind and amount of gear, I will ride in 35+ degree weather.

Draw the line? I don't! Motorcycling's just as much a winter sport as summer. Indeed, with the proper gear, I'll take -20C (~-5F) over +40C (~+105F), no worries!

Coldest I've done on my Firebolt is -1°F riding to work and parked outside. At 10°F the bike hesitated a little more than I'm comfortable with, but started nonetheless. Much colder I'm afraid it wouldn't start at the end of the day.

No real high temp limit (that I've reached). I rode in 110 F and it wasn't too bad (kept moving). I've ridden below 20 F and that sucked but once I get heated grips I wouldn't hesitate to do so again (gotta layer up though). Right now I'd say 25-30 F is my limit.

Its about 30* degrees and I'm preparing to ride to work today. As I've gotten older I've stopped riding in cold temps, just because I don't like having to gear up so much to stay warm.

I live in Phoenix, AZ, so heat is a bigger concern than cold. For commuting to work, I take the truck when I know if going to be over 106. It is just no fun over 106 with full gear in stop & go traffic. I am an AGATT rider, so I really get sweaty on my work commute, even with my Motoport Kevlar mesh suit, . I'll also avoid riding if I know there is going to be rain, which is all of 10 days a year in AZ.

Now as far as cold, if it starts out the day in the 30's, I'll take the truck. Luckily it is only a few weeks out of year when it is that cold. But as long as it is 40's or warmer, I take my bike.

Now the above applies to my work commute. If I am riding for fun, I will ride through 110 plus degree weather to get to nicer stuff. There are a ton of cooler areas 50 to 100 miles around Phoenix that are really nice to ride when it is summer. Sadly, when it is nice in Phoenix, those areas get a tad cold.

You need the right gear though, you can't mess about. In 30 degree weather on a 30 minute ride with fall/Spring gloves, I thought I was going to have to amputate my fingers.

If wisco didn't use salt I would ride whenever the snow was off the road. I put heated grips on the last xb and It was sooo much better. But heat.. man I hate heat. 85-90 is too much. Lol
